I thought it might be kind of fun to start a weekly feature of my own right here in my small part of the Blogosphere; after all, even though this is my blog, there's no reason for it to be "all about me" (as my friend Andrew might say!).Once a week I'm going to ask you, gentle readers, a question and I will look forward to your answers as I'm sure will everyone else who pops by my blog. This gives the lurkers a chance to come out of the shadows as well as giving us all a chance to learn a little something about each other!
I hope you'll join in and play along - please???
This week's question:
What is your all-time favorite cartoon?

My favorite is about a dog called Marmaduke. Toronto Star
ReplyDeleteCalvin and Hobbes. Best cartoon ever. Ever. Ever. Ever. If you're looking for a great gift for yourself ... The Complete Calvin and Hobbes.
ReplyDeleteHere's a little something I wrote about my favorite cartoon strip several months ago. I couldn't love this cartoon strip anymore than I do.
A boy and his tiger
Great question.
Oh definitely, "Calvin and Hobbes!" I actually have a photo I was going to print...
ReplyDeleteAfter that, it's "The Far Side."
I miss both of them.
Cartoon like on tv? I'm embarrassed to say it's probably Spongebob.... he kills me!
ReplyDeleteIf you mean in print, then I guess it would be garfield.
Oh definitely Rugrats! I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteBy cartoon, I thought you meant animated, so my answer is Caspar the Friendly Ghost (showing my age). Comic strip would definitely be Calvin and Hobbes.
ReplyDeletedilbert.
ReplyDeletesmiles, bee
Oh lord Linda why do you have to ask that I have so many. I loved the Looney Tunes. In print my favorite is Blondie....
ReplyDeleteFor TV, I'd have to say "The Jetsons" tied with "Rocky and Bullwinkle."
ReplyDeleteIn print, I'd have to go with "Calvin and Hobbes" hands down!
Film cartoon - would have to be "Roadrunner" stuff. Print cartoon - I love Garfield, Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes too but my absolute favorite cartoon is one by Buck Brown (Playboy) from way back in the late 60's - the dirty old lady on a stagecoach being held up by robbers and one of 'em tells her "Lady, would you put your clothes back on. You're scaring the horses." I had that one taped to the wall behind my desk at work for a long, long time.
ReplyDeletecartoon show, Dragon Ball Z, it was one my daughter and I watched together, collected trading cards, the likes.....printed, hmmm, I'd have to go with B.C.
ReplyDeleteOh I never thought about a print cartoon! That would have to Andy Capp - thought you've probably never heard of it over the pond.
ReplyDeleteAndy Capp used to run in Chicago. Usually without subtitles.
ReplyDelete------
I'm with dixiechick on this... there are too many that I really like... Rocky and Bullwinkle, yes, Dilbert, Calvin & Hobbes, all wonderful.
Let me add just two more: Animaniacs (TV) and Brewster Rockit (print).
For tv: Help, It's The Hair Bear Bunch (tied with roadrunner).
ReplyDeleteFor print, it's 'The Far Side'.
Road Runner on TV
ReplyDeletePeanuts in the paper
cartoon movie"Song Of The South"
Tom & Jerry on TV
ReplyDeleteDilbert on paper.
Animated would be close between Spongebob and Roadrunner I think. Comic strip would be Pogo or Calvin and Hobbes.
ReplyDelete=)
TV, Dangermouse. Print, definitely Dilbert.
ReplyDeleteFlintstones!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't ever really into newspaper cartoons, but in terms of shows...I'd have to say The Smurfs...or the Gummy Bears.
ReplyDeleteWuth 2 Great Danes I should say Scooby-do but I would be telling a fib it's Garfield (the cat!!!)
ReplyDeleteThe Far Side was always my favorite. Calvin and Hobbes came in a close second, though! My parents bought heaps of books for both cartoons and they were all over the house when I was growing up. :D
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite animated cartoon is Family Guy. Stewie and Brian just kill me. For a printed cartoon it's Calvin and Hobbs hands down.
ReplyDeleteI love Spongebob, but my all time favorite cartoon episode was the Warner Brothers/Looney Toons about a big dog named Marc Anthony who finds this little kitten and starts taking care of it. He growls at it and the kitten crawls up and makes a nest in his neck fur. Cutest cartoon ever!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has got to be The Jetsons! I still download and watch them! :)
ReplyDeleteI am here not lurking! i have to right click to open comments on your blog for some reason?
ReplyDeleteLove the new feature! I love gummy bears too and He man, She rah?(spelling), Thundercats etc! My brain is fried i cant just pick one.
My favorite TV was Tom & Jerry growing up...now it's the Far Side...TV...ANYTHING comics kept us laughing and in wonder! (I was an old black/white generation kid!)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Linda. Cartoon to me is a broadcast medium, comic is print. So my favorite cartoon was The Jetsons.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Flintstones.
ReplyDeletePebbles hair always cracked me up.
TV-Angry Beavers
ReplyDeletePrint-Foxtrot
Now - Jimmy Neutron
ReplyDeleteThen - Shmoo
