I've Got a Question, You've Got an Answer

********************
The weather has gotten cooler out here in the Northeast, which has been a rather nice change from the nasty early summer heat and humidity we had for awhile there. When it gets that bad in late May/early June then you know you're in for one heck of a long, hot, miserable summer! Which means we need to enjoy the nice weather while we can.

One of the things I enjoy the most about this cooler weather is that it makes it so much easier to sleep however it also makes it that much harder to get out of bed in the morning! While I was contemplating to get up or not get up this morning I got to wondering how much sleep most people need before they feel rested and that brings us to this week's question ...

How much sleep do you get and do you feel like that's enough?

As for me - sometimes I feel like I never get enough as I am definitely NOT a morning person!

  1. I need as many hours of sleep as I can get...I normally sleep 8 hours (can't function properly with less hours) but take a nap whenever I can, which I can organize since I am at home :)

  2. Well when I'm working I go to bed round about 10.30 p.m. and I'm up at 6 a.m. but could do with more sleep. If I go to bed earlier though I can't get to sleep! At the moment I'm going to bed about 11.30 p.m. and getting up at 8.30 a.m.

  3. I'm very textbook. I need 8 hours and I usually get it. Unless my dog tries to wake me up earlier, which he does a lot.

  5. I usually manage to sleep 8 hours, but I could probably manage with a little less.

  6. I go to sleep usually between 1 & 2am then wake up around 8 or 9am. I think it's enough even though I catch myself yawning here and there.

  7. I rarely go to bed before 2:30-3 a.m. - sometimes am up till 6 or 7 a.m. Then, depending on what hours my daughter might be working on any given day, I might try to sneak a nap in here or there. Usually end up with anywhere from 3.5 hours to upwards of 8 hours but if I get 6.5-8 hours straight through -that tends to be rare.

  8. Good question. I feel like I've been indulged if I get 7 hours of sleep. Six is about average. I needed loads less sleep once I hit midlife though I heard getting eight hours of sleep will help you live longer. I rarely get eight hours of sleep.

  9. I'm not familiar with this thing you call sleep.

I need at least 6 hours to feel normal, 8 if you want me happy and 9 or so if you want me functioning and able to count without using my fingers.

Did I mention I have two, yes two, toddlers?

  10. Haa haaa haa ahaa haaa haa haaa...

    Sleep? What's that?

    (See muffins)

    LOL.

Seriously, before school I think I'd say 8 or 9 hours. But now I think if I were allowed to sleep until I was rested, it would probably be about 12.

    My sleep bank is E.M.P.T.Y.

    July is almost here....

  11. Linda,
I need between 8 and 9 hours continuous sleep. I never get it though. With putter working swing and getting home anywhere between 1 and 3 it wakes me up everytime. The dogs go crazy barking and stuff so then I am up for about and 1 then back to sleep then it catches up with me around 1 in the afternoon and then I take a nap. Love that nap.

  12. I need a lot of sleep, but don't get it usually.

When I have to get up in the morning for work I've had about 6 hrs sleep, other days I get about 7. I catch up on the weekends :-)

  13. I need at least 6hrs to function @ 85-90%. Working nights & sleeping during the day for three on/three off has taken it's toll, but I've been worse off. Very rarely will I get out of bed wide awake and feeling "good to go", but 6-8hrs will get me going at least (along with a cup of coffee!)

  14. I have to have at least 6, otherwise I'm a zombie. I'm not much better than one even with the 6 hours.. and I don't know that I've gotten more than that lately anyway, with work being absolutely crazy, and wanting to spend time with my family.. sigh.

    I need a vacation!!!
