I've Got a Question, You've Got an Answer

********************
Summer officially arrived at 2:06 PM EST (for those of us who reside on the East Coast) on what is known as the longest day of the year or the Summer Solstice. There are two solstices, the time of the year when the sun either tilts closest towards or furthest away from the Sun, one in December and another in June. After today the days will start to grow incrementally shorter again as we start to slide back towards Winter. Now there's a depressing thought, eh??

But for now it's summer and most people's thoughts turn to vacations whether they be full-blown affairs requiring all sorts of logistical wrangling or just a casual jaunt to the local campground to get away from it all.

I know that a lot of my friends in the Blogosphere have already made their summer plans while some are currently enjoying a holiday but what about the rest of you?

What plans do you have for this summer?

  2. Well since my lovely boss takes the Summer off (hence so do I!) we'll probably be doing our usual camping, swimming, boating, visiting etc.

Oh - and SLEEPING IN - my favourite part of Summer!

  3. We're doing some camping this weekend. After that, we have nothing "officially planned". Swimming in the pool will surely be on the list!

  4. I have no plans, although I decided just this week I REALLY need to get away from work and out of town, even if it's just a three- or four-day getaway to anywhere. Soooooo burnt out.

  7. I decided some time ago -like maybe 3-4 years now - that the only "goal" I have in life is to be able to keep on living. Just being able to move about, to share time, space, love with my kids and grandkids as much as possible has replaced the idea of planning to do most of the things I used to consider of utmost importance. Too much planning gets in the way all too often of having a good time so I try to do the absolute minimal amount of planning necessary!

  8. Know what's fun about EMS? Working while others don't...especially on weekends & holidays! You already know this, Linda, so let me co-miserate with you...vacation? what's that?

However, "Mrs. Bulldog" & I do plan on some camping outings for a few days @ a time for July, August, and September. As long as we have something to look forward to every month, it will keep us sane. Oh, that and going out on "dates" during mutual days off. Mini-golf, the beach, ect.

  9. I know this is going to shock you Linda, but we are going to be boating, boating, and after that some more boating. The weather is wonderful right through October, so we have lots of boating adventures to enjoy. Have a great weekend. :)

  16. We already had what looks to be our vacation for the year. Mike has volunteered to work one week of his next vacation/shut-down for some extra $$$.

We might go kidnap a grandkid again though.

  17. We will spend a summer exploring our new back yard, the extent that our funds will allow. But September may see a big trip as compensation.

  19. Maybe a quick run over to the coast - it's only a 2-3 hour drive. But everyone from B-town has the same plans so it's usually jam-packed! But I miss my beach-fix and a dose of fres, salty air!
Other than that, hubman has one more week vacation on the books but will probably wait 'til it cools down a bit.
