Couldn't miss this Manic Monday!

********************
Well it's just another Manic Monday over at It's a Blog Eat Blog World and our host the magnificent Morgen has made the theme this week MISS. That could be miss as in "With a mouth that big how you possibly miss?" or miss as in "Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell."*

Or it could be like the Miss I have chosen - the one and only incomparable Miss Piggy. Rather than write about how I miss Jamie or how much I miss my good friend Miz Cyn or even how much I miss my mind some days I thought I'd post some wisdom from one of the most famous porcine personalities in the universe.

Sit back, enjoy, and just remember - you can't argue with logic nor is it wise to argue with a pig that has a black belt in karate!

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.

Never eat more than you can lift.

The truth is, food is awfully drab-looking most of the time. And the few foods that really are pretty, like turnips and beets and wax beans, taste as if you ate your purse by mistake.

Never purchase beauty products in a hardware store.

It is often said that cooking is an art, but I have had very few meals that I would hang on my wall.

You have to be going to a pretty awful place if getting there is half the fun.

Home décor is a matter of personal taste although ill-conceived suggestions from husbands may spoil the overall effect.

The definition of an eligible man: He’s breathing.

Who should ask whom out? As long as he’s paying, who cares?

The object of exercise is to achieve your beauty aspirations without perspiration.

Smart cooks realize that the easiest cookbook to use is the Yellow Pages and the handiest appliance in the kitchen is the telephone.

Only time can heal your broken heart just as only time can heal his arms and legs.

A bowl of fruit is sometimes served in place of dessert. This practice should be discouraged.

If you place an ad in the “Personals,” Moi has only one word of advice: lie."

Everyone have a fantastic Monday - manic or mundane - and for the record, I did miss you while I was on my hiatus! A big thank you to those who came by and wished my blog a happy first blogaversary (or whatever we call it here in the Blogosphere!).

  4. What an interesting take on "miss". It brought back memories of watching "The Muppet Show" - talk about quality TV! I always thought Miss Piggy was pretty cool in her own way. Glad to have you back, Linda.

BTW: 21:30hrs on Saturday night, travelling southbound on Rte. 395, ambulance flashed its lightbar @ you...that was me! Yep, I recognized you coming & going - ha ha ha! I "MISSED" you!

  13. What wonderful Miss Piggy missives!
I used to have a Miss Piggy hand puppet as a teen, and I would spend hours, trying to "get" Frank Oz's piggy voice.
Now it sounds more like Grover than Miss Piggy when I try it!
Although I can still do a pretty good "High-Yah!" karate-chop.
    cheers,
    mo
