A Couple of Promos for a Couple of Blog-Friends

Last week one of my blogging buddies, Gale Martin wrote a post setting herself a goal that is to be admired. She has been working on a novel, Savage Grace, that I am just chomping at the bit to read as soon as it's published, but her progress has been slowed by life in general and blogging in particular. We all know that blogging is an addiction and it can certainly take up a good portion of our lives if we let it (this typed as I gaze around the mess that is my living room) but Gale has made a promise to change that.

An excerpt from Gale's post stated:
"So, here's the deal. For me blogging is like candy. It's a treat, like the one or two Swedish fish I have when I want to treat myself.

In order to make myself finish my book, I'm only posting a blog entry if I've written three pages toward completing one of my two unfinished novels."
This is a great goal and I support her 100% in her efforts. However, I'm not the only one encouraging Gale to achieve what she has set out for herself. As a matter of fact, there is someone who is even more of a cheerleader and dedicated to see Gale get her novel done and that's Frank of FoxxFyrre's Honk'nHoll'r. Frank has designated himself the President of The Unofficial Gale Martin Novel Writing Cheering Squad - of which I am a proud member.

In order to encourage Gale and cheer her on, Frank has posted a "Novel Writing Progress Log" on his sidebar here and you are all encouraged to sign up and join me as an official member of the The Unofficial Gale Martin Writing Cheering Squad, too. No pom-poms required!

So far Gale has done fantastic and has written 10.5 pages since setting her goal and the rest of us have been rewarded with three great posts to read because of her diligence. This is a win-win situation for all so head on over to Frank's blog and tell him you want to sign up. After all, I got passed over for cheerleading try-outs in Junior High which means I'm probably not very good at it and I could definitely use some help!

Speaking of cheering people on, tomorrow is Tuesday and that means it's once again time for The Mo Show on Blog-Talk Radio! You can tune in tomorrow from 6:30 to 7:30 EST and join in on the fun when the topic is going to be Cats - Our Furry Feline Friends.

This is going to be show #4 for Mo and each week he has just been getting better and better in his role as radio host. Listen in, call in, send an Instant Message via Yahoo!. If life is going to get in the way and you can't get there live don't forget that you can listen in on the archives, too! Just don't listen to last week's show where I called in as I truly hate my voice!

I must say that I am so happy and thrilled for the success of both Gale and Mo - two of the nicest people you'll ever meet in the Blogosphere - and you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to be telling everyone "I knew them when"!!

  1. Linda, if I am one of the nicest, you are without equivocation the NICEST person in the blogosphere. Frank is the quirkiest and you are the nicest. Thanks for all that encouragement. This may sound crazy, but it's really working. I'm off to add another three pages so I can post another entry. You are the best!

  2. Gale - shhh! You'll ruin my reputation at work for being a heartless wench! At least to some of those I work dispatch with; the road personnel seem to think I'm okay!

I am so glad that the encouragement is working and I can't wait for you to finish your book. I really mean it when I say how much I am looking forward to reading it.

    Go Gale!!!

  6. I will most definitely go on over to Gale's blog and take a look. I really do admire writers who have the discipline to sit down and write...even if it's only a page or two a day. I've always dreamed about being a writer but I just cannot seem to get motivated enough to try.

  11. I can't believe I've gotten this far in life witout the blog community in my life.
I'm Gem's sister-in-law and it was through her blog that we found our common interest of writing. I'll cheer her on to help her complete her book....but also so that I can continue to enjoy her blog!
