I've Got a Question, You've Got an Answer

This has been a very strange week when it comes to the weather so I'm going to make this week's question short and sweet based on that. Here in New England we have had nice weather, we have had hot weather, we have had humid weather, and we have had fog - all since Sunday. August has had major rain with cold temperatures, chilly and windy days, and hazy, hot, and humid days with some really gorgeous days thrown in as a tease. It's been a veritable cornucopia of meteorological mayhem at times!

How about you folks -

What's the weather like where you're at?

  1. Anonymous10:35 PM EDT

Wow, Linda what a GREAT question. :)

The weather here is HOT and DRY. We did get about 30-45 minutes of a slow rain today. But, it's been almost a month since we've seen any rain, so it went as quickly as it came. Hopefully we'll see some more in the next day or so.

Temps have been 100-110 for the last two - three weeks! :( I'm ready for a break.

  2. hot and very dry, tinder bone dry, our whole county is on a total no outside watering restriction now...

    smiles, bee

  3. I don't wanna brag....however...

The weather cools off in the evening (unlike southern and mid California) as the sun goes about 55 to 58 degrees. Some nights its a bit foggy...some nights we have a blanket of stars.

The early mornings in the summer are foggy until about September...September and October are our perfect months. The fog is gone by ten to beautiful blue skies.

During the day it is warm...usually between 75 and 85 humidity at all. The breeze from the ocean keeps the air clean...and cools the heat.

Watching CNN and MSNBC...and reading all of these blogs...I will never complain about our weather...ever.

  4. Katherine is definitely bragging. (BTW, Katherine, I adore your neck of the woods!) Here just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, it has been in excess of 100 the past two days. My house hit 91 a couple of hours ago. It is now a quite comfortable 85 at the highest level. The highest level is also, sadly, where the master bedroom is. Sweat, sweat, sweat. So we're breaking the rules and we're going to sleep in the pop-up trailer on a school night.

  5. Yeah, it's HOT, HOT, HOT, here, too, with no end in sight. It was 103 today but it's "a dry heat..."
Hot is hot!!! We haven't had rain since May but that's par for us. We won't get rain until late Oct. or Nov.

  6. OK, I'm in NE Texas. It rained from April to Mid August, then we had about 10 days of upper 90s-100s but today it rained again for a bit in the afternoon.

Contrast this to last year. It went I think 6 months without a drop of rain.

100s all summer....wait, 100s all summer is NORMAL.

    crazy stuff!!

  7. The weather here in NW England has been OK, not hot but reasonably warm. It's raining at the moment though!

  8. It's been hot - very hot and also, very muggy here the past couple of days or so. Some nights, it has really chilled down, others (like last night now) not quite as chilly in the a.m. I don't know what the temps have been - haven't paid any attention to that. About the only thing I DO pay attention to is if the forecast is calling for electrical storms - hate those puppies.
And that's the weather report-forecast from central Pennsylvania!

  9. Since I live within spitting distance of the border to the state you live in, and it only takes me a half-hour to get to your house, Linda, there really isn't much I can contribute here. I will say, however, that this morning it is about 66 degrees outside, cool & sunny! As for the normal weather patterns; what you get, I get.

Jolly hot, in the 90's. However since it's August it should be higher still, so I think it's back to the global warming theory.
    Best wishes and phew

  11. Anonymous9:33 AM EDT

Gorgeous. In Boston it's in the 70s, blue skies, a light breeze.

  12. Southern California hasn't had rain in almost 2 years. Yesterday it was 109 (70 miles north of LA) and we are not in the desert. The desert and mountains had rain and hail (pea size) lightening and thunder left over from hurricane Dean.

If we don't get rain soon, flushing is going to be a problem. We are already conserving, putting something like a half gallon milk bottle filled with water in the bottom of the toilet tank to use less water and can only water the lawns early in the morning or after the sun goes down.

  13. Southern California is now in the midst of it's annual August/September heat wave...100+ degree temps and a broken air conditioner to add insult to injury. Sigh...

  14. Central California - You already know. Today is supposed to be very hot with the temp. around 103 or so. I'm staying in. Well, right after my walk I'm staying in. I will say that this summer has been milder than most. Have a great day Linda. :)

  15. Last weekend it was quite sunny, then it qwent cloudy for most of the week, with the occasional glint of sunshine. This morning, it was rainy!

  16. hey there….at some point in time your postings on parenting have caught my attention…and I Challenge You To Comment at Bond’s Big Leather Couch…

Should we bubblewrap our kids protecting them ever feeling pain, loss or suffering?

Should we insist on all things being equal…eliminating competition and forbidding recognition of individual or team achievement?

Should we encourage our kids to take advantage of their attributes, skills, and knowledge to strive to be the best they can be…and be ranked higher than their peers?

Should we get provide classes, lessons, tutors and coaches to give them the edge…to a point where they have no real free time to actually be a kid?

    What do YOU think?

  17. Reading, PA checking in.... hot. I hate summer. We've had a mix too. We went from 96 and humid one day to rainy and low 60's the next. It's been yukky! I can't wait for autumn!

  18. HOT and HUMID all week, until last night -- a front came thru and the night-time temperature actually dipped into "comfortable"
It was 67 degrees this morning when I stopped in at the diner for breakfast, and I was enjoying it until I heard some old fogies complain about HOW CHILLY IT WAS.
Gorgeous today - only 73 degrees and sunny, breezy and low humidity = this is how Michigan summers are SUPPOSED to be! Ahhhhhhh.....

  19. Uhhh... same as where you're at.

    I know I'm cute.

  20. Anonymous7:55 PM EDT

Hot and humid in Nashville, TN. After several weeks od dry, dry 100+ degree heat, we're now in the 90's and humid. Woke up tp major fog this morning as well!

  21. Anonymous10:20 PM EDT

Fantastic! Unseasonably cool and fair, thanks for asking.

  22. I've been off work for the last week & you wouldn't believe it but we've had sun, sun & more sun but probably no where near what you experience x

Thanks for visiting!
