Amanda talked me into taking her to the Buckland Hills Mall today so that she could meet one of her on-line friends that lives in Hartford. I should probably point out that this particular mall is a good 45 miles away from our house but we didn't really have anything else on the agenda for today so why not? Plus, she's spoiled though she fails to think so!
Once we got to the mall we had to hang around for a little bit until her friend showed up at their designated meeting place - Hot Topic, of course - so I spent some time watching people walk by when suddenly I spied the cutest little old couple since our own Sarge Charlie and Empress Bee.

I decided to follow them because of course I was thinking "wow, I need to write about this in my blog!" and as just a mere written description wasn't going to do it, I would need to try to take a picture or two with my cell phone. Amanda decided at that point that I was completely and totally crazy as I was "stalking" an old couple and surreptitiously taking pictures!

Shortly after that Amanda's friend showed up and after walking around a bit with the two of them and her mother I decided to cut out for the local Borders where I could sit myself down in their WiFi Cafe, get a nice cold beverage, and do a blog entry! Because after all, life is one big blog post these days!

Miss Pink cracks me up = Urban Outfitters?! Bwahaaha!
ReplyDeleteAnd girl, that beverage from Borders is totally making me close my store to run down to the whippy dip for a slushie! You temptress!
well personally i think she is adorable! but if i were her i'd lose the shoes. i think you can have cute flats and that's what i wear!

Oh man! You should've called me!! I would've so loved to go to the mall with you, well I would not sit at border's, too pretentious for me I'm afraid. But I would've been down to shopping for back to school clothes! And yes, Amanda is spoiled, as you drove her all the way to Manchester to meet her friend! And I ask you, has she loaded/or unloaded the dishwasher lately or done the cartoon for the fireman?? Did she at least get her sister's MP3 player good to go before she left???
ReplyDeleteStill can't log in as me, but you know who I am.
p.s. she's not a bad kid, just a typical teenager, me, me, me,me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me,meeeee
ReplyDeleteHey Paula -
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't call but I figured you would be at work this morning as that's where you usually are!
Besides, you know how much I hate malls so of course I had to retreat to some place safe like Borders and have a drink that I'm sure had way more calories than I really needed but oh man, did it taste good!
I'll keep you in mind next time she wants to make a "quick trip" to Manchester!
What an adventure!
ReplyDeleteHow did the girls' visit go?
I'm not that much of a mall person, but Kid1 and myself always make a mall trip once a year the Saturday before Christmas, the worse time of the year. we've been doing this since she was four (1993), and it is really fun, despite the excessive crowding. A real fun aspect of this is moving my power wheelchair around the Yankee Candle store and crowd. Nothing but jar candles and other breakable things. I haven't broken anything yet :>)
ReplyDelete^^ haha that old couple is so cute Linda. I wish amanda would have let you take better pictures.
ReplyDeleteShe said she would have let me xD

I always knew you were a stalker...
ReplyDeleteOh and be careful with that sinfully delicious looking drink so close to your laptop........
Aren't they sweet - holding hands like that! That picture made me reach for my lady's hand and give it a squeeze.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I intend to end up in my dotage - flamboyant and couldn't give a damn what anyone thinks! Pink lady looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIce cream? Bad girl!
Yup, I agree with Amanda you are a stalker . . . .lol but so pleased it's not just me who embarrasses their girls. When ever I go for my camera they sigh & say "Bloggin' It!"
ReplyDeleteYour secret is safe with us.
ReplyDeleteHot Topic is my favorite place too..Its where I buy my purple hair dye.
ReplyDeleteIf it was me, did I pat her on the butt now and then????????
ReplyDeleteI think they are sooooo cute holding hands and she so reminds me of the poem "When I Am Old I Shall Wear Purple" only change purple to pink!
ReplyDeleteAnd now that I've figured out my new camera cell phone, I guess I'll qualify as a stalker shortly! Thanks for leading the way! :~)
Seriously? I'm ready to kill you right now.
ReplyDeleteI live 10 minutes away from the Buckland Hills Mall, and in fact was there for a little bit yesterday.

ReplyDeleteAnd just for good measure I posted my comment 1000 times. LOL...sorry, don't know what happened there!
ReplyDeleteI figured you did it as a way to punish me!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, while I was driving there I was thinking to myself - "crap! I should have written down Mags number" never even thinking that I had it in my laptop - DUH! And then when I got to the actual mall and saw the Maggie Moo's ice cream stand I was thinking again - damn, I shoulda called Mags! But I figured you were out doing something fun for the weekend and wouldn't be around anyway. Turns out you weren't around - you were at the mall, too! ARGH!
Linda my dear....you are following old people around at the mall. What has gotten into you?
ReplyDelete(just kidding) GREAT POST.
They are adorable. Hope I'm in love walking hand in hand with my sweetie at that age....and wearing a pink hat.
I gotta hand in to her. No RED hats for this lady.
