This is Amanda's latest drawing based on a song called "Hey There Delilah" by The Plain White T's. Good thing she usually has a new drawing when I'm in a pinch for Wordless Wednesday!
It makes me think of a song by Pete and Maura Kennedy, "half a million miles". They are a great folk music duo. They've been married for ten years and on the road performing for pretty much all of it. By their estimation, they've traveled half a million miles over those ten years.
As an aside, they will be playing at the Strawberry Park Folk Music Festival in Preston, CT in September http://www.strawberrypark.net/folk_music.htm
@ Claire: I used Crayola water colors for everything but the girl/guitar/road. For those I used Crayola colored pencils and Prisma color markers for her skin.
ooooo, more awesome Amanda Art! I love it! There's a part in that song that always makes me giggle, because I put in the wrong words. He says "This one's for you", and I always hear "This Bud's for you". I can't help it!
Miss Linda, there's something for you over on my blog when you get a minute! *HUGS* Love ya!
Nice picture, Amanda! Fits the song so well, too. Love the road scene, especially since it reminds me of Rte. 285 cutting through New Mexico into Texas. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you've been there, too, since you were able to capture the "feeling" of the road & put it with the song lyrics with the young lady as a poignant focal point!
