I've Got a Question, You've Got an Answer

********************
Last week's "I've Got a Question, You've Got an Answer" begged to ask the question:

Which vacation home would you choose and why?

With 21 comments to the post, 11 people choose a Lake Tahoe vacation home over the other three locations which were Myrtle Beach, Orlando, and Nova Scotia. Not surprisingly no one choose Arizona luxury real estate but that could also be because I didn't list it as a choice!

Those who know me at all know that I'd take a Lake Tahoe vacation home over the other three in a New York minute! I absolutely love Lake Tahoe with its breathtaking scenery, myriad options of things to do, and crisp mountain air. Pictures do not do it justice - it's a breathtaking and majestic land and if you've never been - what are you waiting for?

That's not this week's question but it does lead up to it as it always seems that when asked, people are fairly evenly split when it comes to choosing the answer to this question:

Mountains or Ocean??

P.S. - I apologize for not getting around to anyone's blogs on Wednesday, I had a medical procedure done that waited until the next day to wipe me out and I was barely able to keep my eyes open long enough to knock out a couple of posts. Hopefully I will be back to my regularly scheduled blog-reading later today!

  1. Ocean, most definitely. Nothing beats the smell of salt in the air, the sound of waves crashing against the shore, and the ever present breeze that comes off the water.....

  2. I absolutely adore the mountains. I love Tahoe. (My knees are forever gone, so no more skiing, but...) Nothing could ever compare to the perfect ocean, though. I'm thinking the waves at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, at Stinson Beach in Marin County, on the north shore of Hawaii, at the Jersey shore in the winter. Man, hearing that, smelling that, feeling that power. Ahhhhh. Ocean.

Sure hope you're feeling better after your procedure? Botox? You can tell me.

  3. Tough call. Can I say both?

  4. I enjoy the ocean, but only to visit. For me, it's mountains.

I hope you're feeling ok now.

Ocean, any ocean, but especially any ocean on Martha's Vineyard.

  6. I don't know.. this is hard! They both have qualities that I love.. but I think I'll have to go with mountains.

  7. If I had to choose one, then let it be mountains, HOWEVER, if it were entirely up to me, I'd say the flatlands, or plains - something similar to the deserts of New Mexico or Texas. I grew up in New England, and have ALWAYS felt like nature made a mistake putting me in the wrong geographic location! Give me a strong horse, vittles, and the open trail any day!

  8. I grew up by the ocean and do love the smell and power particularly when the winter seas start coming in in November, but I'm happier in the mountains: A definite tree hugger who prefers lakes and rivers for swimming. This is where I go to do it The Pines Resort

  9. I love both, but the ocean takes first place. Anything I can put a boat on works for me. Great question. Have a great day Linda. :)

  12. living in a place where the mountains and the ocean are side by side...I have to say both. I am not a desert person...by any means. It would be very difficult to live somewhere where I couldn't get to the waves. scary.

  14. Why do we have to choose. Both have their attractions. I love a cruise where the ocean takes us from one port to another. I love the vastness that a mountain has.

  15. Ocean for me, please =)
Although... whenever I´m in the mountains... mmmmh...
No, the ocean if I have to choose.

I apologize for being a pain in your neck... but I did it again. =)

  16. Ocean, for sure. Think NJ shore, Cape Cod, RI shore, etc. Stick to the north so hurricanes are not so prevalent. I love the briny sea air and cooling humid breezes. Saltwater, totally.

  17. I'm definitely an ocean person! I love the mountains (look at The Buzz Queen's photos!) and Lake Tahoe; but the dry air gets to me after a few days. I had altitude sickness at Mammoth - not fun. But the ocean air with the soothing moisture, the scent, and the motion...That was my only disappointment in Hawai'i - no salty air smell. But I'll take it anyway!
