A Cold & Dark Sunday Afternoon

Not much time to post much of anything today as it took me all morning to get through the posts in my Google Reader and now it's time to start getting ready for work. This is what happens when I spend a Saturday evening having dinner over at the home of friends and then play Rock Band with Amanda and Cate until the late night hours!

After some persuasion, Jason took over as bass player and, because we needed a singer and no one else was willing to do it, I took the microphone for awhile and thoroughly embarrassed myself. I swear we could hear the coyotes howling outside at one point and I'm sure it wasn't at the moon but at my poor excuse for singing!

Amy and Amanda attempted some singing, too, after a fashion and I've got to say that Amanda has most definitely inherited my non-singing abilities! Sorry kiddo! Still it was a lot of fun and we never got boo'd off the stage though we came pretty darned close to it a time or two! Perhaps I had best stick to my awesome guitar playing abilities rather than try to sing!

Today is cold and dark from the clouds with a bit of snow in the air - the perfect day to stay home in front of the fire - if one had a fire, that is! Instead I get to schlep off to work here pretty soon and take up my duties as 911 operator extraōrdinārius. Ah, there I go being delusional again! I am but a simple 911 operator who would rather stay home on this cold and snowy Sunday and eat Ramen noodles while perhaps watching some sort of fluff 'n stuff on TV but alas someone has to tell the ambulance people where to go!

Hope that everyone has a warm and cozy Sunday doing warm and cozy things!

  2. Sorry you have to go to work Linda. I so remember wishing the same wish you just wished. At least you don't work outdoors. That would be terrible. It's still raining here. I know we need it, but after a week or rain and gloom, I'm ready to see the sun. Have a great day Linda. :)

  5. Brrrrrrrrr

Those pictures make me shiver. It's cold enough for me just hovering near freezing .. a good excuse for a fire and a nice cup of tea.

Get everyone to a safe place and have a wonderful day.

  6. Stay warm my friend! We are being teased here, because our temps are going up today and tomorrow, just long enough to tease us, and then it's dropping back down again.

  7. It is going to be cold here tomorrow, they have predicted low of 49 tonight. Oh, you would not think that is cold would you.

  8. Concerning the rock band, better the coyotes mimicking your scintillating style than to hear the crickets chirping...
As for the weather, what can you do about it?

  9. Don't be embarrased about your singing - Just pretend you're in the shower! :)

  10. Sunday is over and you're back home in a nice warm spot by now. Hope all went well. It's been cold and damp here in North Carolina too, but that's a relative thing. The temps have been in the 40s and 50s. I'm sure you're feeling very sorry for me. :0)
