I had been more or less keeping an eye on my stat counter as I knew I was close to reaching the 60,000 visitor mark but apparently I was watching it less than I was more as I have now passed 60,000 by some 200+ visitors. Oh heck ... and here I had a great gift of some Bose headphones, uhm - leftover Valentine's candy ... no wait that wasn't it either ... oh yeah, it was a virtual hug and a big thank you for the illustrious 60,000th visitor but I went and missed the occasion completely.
According to my stats over at Site Meter, my 60,000th visitor was from Ash Shariqah, Sharjah, Dubai. For those not familiar with Dubai (or إمارة دبيّ if you can read Arabic!), it's one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates that is located on the Persian Gulf coast and it's an extremely wealthy place. Most of what I know about Dubai I learned on The Today Show last summer when Matt Lauer paid a visit to the place but if you want to know just how wealthy they are over there, let's put it this way - they have an honest-to-goodness ski slope in one of their malls and rooms at The Burj Al Arab Hotel (Arabic: برج العرب "Tower of the Arabs"), which is the tallest in the world at 1,053 feet until April of 2008 when the Rose Tower in Dubai opens, start at $1,000 a night and increase to $15,000 right up to $28,000 a night for the Royal Suite. Like I said, they're pretty wealthy over there!
At any rate, I doubt that particular visitor will be back anytime soon to collect his or her virtual hug and big thank you but for those who do come back on a regular basis - thank you very much for visiting and for commenting (or not), and for being a part of my little section of the Blogosphere. Consider yourselves all virtually hugged!
