I've Got a Question - You've Got an Answer - The Ladies Version!

First off, I sincerely apologize for not having been doing very well with making my blog rounds this week. My hours have been a bit messed up at work so between that and Amanda's Spring Concert last night, I haven't really had a lot of time to spend on the computer. I hope to remedy that on Friday when I have a day off and it's supposed to be raining - again! Another day stuck in the house should give me lots of time to play catch-up with everyone - I hope!

In the meantime, I thought I'd put a slightly different spin on this "IGAQ-YGAA" post and direct it more towards the ladies. Guys, you are more than welcome to play along, too if you'd like as it's always nice to get a male perspective on things and I'd like to think I run an Equal Opportunity blog here so as long as you feel comfortable weighing in with your opinion then by all means - go for it!

So, ladies (and gentlemen if you so choose) the question is ...

if you had your choice between this guy -
Colin FirthColin Firth

this guy -
John CusackJohn Cusack

or this guy -
Ray LiottaRay Liotta
Who would you choose??
As a rule, I'm not someone who goes crazy over actors but there are those that I do like to go see when they put out a new movie and these three gentlemen are probably at the top of my list. Not necessarily for totally shallow reasons though they're all very easy on the eyes, but also because I think that they are all three fine actors. I have adored Colin Firth in everything I've seen him in - Pride and Prejudice, both Bridget Jones movies, Love Actually, and even that annoying Amanda Bynes movie - What a Girl Wants - just to name a few. The same with John Cusack - Must Love Dogs, Say Anything, Serendipity, Grosse Pointe Blank, 1408, and even Sixteen Candles (and boy he was he ever young in that one!) - are all high on my list of favorites.

Amanda loves to tease me about liking both Colin and John (we're on a first-name basis of course!) but she never teases me about Ray as she doesn't know about him - well, at least she didn't prior to my writing this post! For me, and this is where I really get shallow, the thing with Ray Liotta is his eyes. That man has got to have the sexiest eyes in all of Hollywood. The first time I noticed them was in Field of Dreams and while watching John Q this past weekend at work, I noticed them again ... sigh ... what gorgeous eyes he has! I'm a sucker for pretty eyes, what can I say? That and a winning smile ...

Of course if you just can't choose between those three there's always this one other guy ...

Sean ConnerySean Connery
Now what can I say there but "rrrooowwwwrrrr"?!? Yep, I'm shallow!

  1. I have had a special place in my heart for sean since Darby O'Gill and the Little People...the only movie sean sings in.

I loved Liotta in Cornea Corena...

Colin Firth is great in everything...but a little too pretty for me.

and John Cusack I would do anywhere, anytime, any place...just sayin'

    this officially is a non-answer....

  2. I've always loved Sean Connery; Ray Liotta has thin lips; Colin Firth doesn't light my fire; John Cusack would be my pick from this list.
Now, MY list would be a tad different. I'm partial to Tom Selleck, although he's not aging too well, and my favorite is George Clooney.
I wouldn't throw him outta bed for eating crackers.

  3. Ok, my age is showing here -I know - but my favs would be Burt Reynolds or Paul Newman. Growing up, I was also really big on Clark Gable too, come to think of it. But of the three you posted, maybe toss a coin between Cusack and Liotta -either one is nice eye candy. And then too -there's the unknown, non-actor I can think of -a certain surgeon down in Pittsburgh who definitely is excellent eye candy -makes his diagnosis stuff a lot easier to swallow ya know.

  4. I'm sticking with Robert Downey Jr but John Cusak is pretty cute too

Ray Liotta was AWESOME in Dominick & Eugene... That film totally touched my heart.

And you know what they say, "When men get old they look like Sean Connery; when women get old they look like Sean connery"

  6. I have to go with Colin Firth. I'm a sucker for a British accent, first and foremost.. plus he was sooo cute in Love Actually, especially that scene where all of his writing goes flying into the lake.. you know the one I mean :)

  7. Well anyone who knows me knows that i go for a great set of I'd have to say...hmmmm no one here I guess.

  8. Never seen any of the flicks you mentioned. Where have I been? Hiding under a rock, I guess.

I would choose Ray Liotta out of these three. What gorgeous eyes!

  9. OH Johnny....come home to Momma!!!

  10. Oh Sean Connery - gimme, gimme, gimme!

  11. Tom Selleck. I know that wasn't a choice, but I rarely follow the rules. Have a great day Linda. :)

  12. Oh my...choosing out of the ones you've posted, I'd have to pick Sean Connery and Colin Firth. Now if I were to pick my own'll have to think about it because there's lots and they all look different and appeal in different ways. Maybe I feel another post coming on :)

  13. Hmmmm... John for me. And Sean as a back up (lol).

  14. Anonymous2:15 PM EDT

John Cusack is adorable minus his politics, and Colin Firth is cute, too. Ray Liotta is a great actor but gives me the willies.
George Clooney is dreamy but seems to full of himself. The ULTIMATE dreamboat?? Johnny Depp!!

  15. Colin Firth all the way, if for no other reason:

"Nice boys don't kiss like that."
(in low growl) "Oh yes they ****ing do."

    *swoon* ;)

  16. I know 9 outta 10 gay guys cream their pants for Colin Firth, but I fell in love with Ray Liotta in Corrina, Corrina.
    He would be my choice.

  17. Pam has told me that she doesn't get the appeal of Colin Firth...she doesn't find him attractive at all.

As for me, if I were to switch teams, it would be John Cusack.

  18. John Cusack. Maybe Sean Connery. Maybe. Robert Redford in Brubaker was sexy as all get out. The new James Bond would definitely be an option.
