Cottony Clouds Cover Connecticut Countryside

Instead of the nasty heat and humidity that we seem to have been plagued with for the most of the summer so far this year, Friday's weather was absolutely gorgeous with low humidity, moderate temperatures, and a sky chock full of beautiful puffy clouds. How could I possibly resist? I couldn't!

The following pictures were taken mostly by Amanda from the back seat of the car as the girls and I went to Canterbury to visit my mother and then again on the way home. Actually, I took the first four from the sunroof while driving but apparently Amanda didn't think that was the best of ideas so she took over the photography duties so I wouldn't drive off the road while in pursuit of a blog post. I tell ya, sometimes that kid has no faith in me!

I hope you enjoy the pictures and having your head back in the clouds with me!

  1. Great slide show Linda and well done to Amanda!

  2. We had those clouds yesterday too, but very hot & humid... about halfway to Indiana, we got sprinkles in the sun - and a lovely rainbow. Of course, none of the three of us in the car had our cameras!
    Great pictures!

  3. Great photos! You are right about the weather yesterday. PERFECT!!

  4. i love this slideshow!

    smiles, bee

  5. I took some cloud photos like this in Connecticut. There is something different about Connecticut skies for sure. Can't put my finger on it but just a crisp, clean feeling and the sky is just a tad bluer. Am I crazy?

    I think not.

The one titled "A Beautiful Contrast" is stunning.

  6. Wow... I was even outside yesterday and while I did notice the weather was nice I guess I never looked up....

Didn't think our neck of the woods could look so inviting.....

  7. Great pics, Linda. Now, since I signed up too for Picture Trails, you might have to explain to me how to use it.

  8. The colors are so vivid. Thanks for sharing!

  9. Gorgeous cloud shots!

Yesterday was indeed a lovely summer day. I was outside covering the opening of a farmer's market located outside the main entrance of a local hospital. Last year was its first year in operation and it was a big hit, so they are hosting it again.

Eating locally is a great idea, especially these days with the price of fuel making everything more expensive at the store.

  10. Absolutely gorgeous photos - thanks for sharing. You made my day :-)

  11. The clouds are expressive, but only to the individual. We see only what we see in those formations. And the sky always changes. Nice slide show!

VERY cool! :) Nicely done, Linda (and Amanda).

Thanks for visiting!
