I'm not exactly sure what I did to earn such a thing but Rob, a renewed blogger who hosts In Times and Out Goals, made an award just for me as a way of saying thank you for inspiring him to restart his blogging efforts. Apparently Rob used to blog awhile back on uJournal and LiveJournal but had stopped for awhile then, after reading my drivel for awhile, he decided to launch himself back into the Blogosphere. I guess he figured if I could do it, anyone could do it so he tentatively stuck his toes into the water and found that blogging had changed drastically since he'd last done any of it! He seems to be catching on nicely, though, and even did a great job with his very first meme that I tagged him with yesterday.
Somehow or other I have apparently been "invaluable" to Rob in his latest blogging endeavor and as such he has dubbed me as his benefactor. Wow. Yesterday I was Maddy's 'soft place to land' and today I'm a blogging benefactor. Too cool! You guys are going to give me a swelled head if this keeps up! Either that or I'm going to start gushing like Sally Field and start proclaiming "I can't deny the fact you like me. Right now, you like me!"
In all honesty, though, I look at blogging as more of a group effort than just an individual achievement and if it wasn't for the help and encouragement of so many others out there, my blog would just be the random ramblings of a woman with no real life talking to herself! The biggest difference between a blog and an online journal is that interaction is a major part of the whole process - something that I learned pretty quickly after starting this blog two years ago this past July.
I think that we are all each other's benefactors and I am thankful for each and every one of you who have become a part of not just my blogging life but my 'real' life, too. I hope that as Rob grows and becomes even more a part of the Blogosphere that he'll soon see exactly what I'm talking about here - that the people you meet through blogging are some of the nicest, the warmest, the most supportive, and the most real out there.
Rob's blog is still less than a month old but I'm pretty sure the training wheels are off - especially if he's coming up with great awards on all on his own! - so I urge to stop by, say 'hi', and welcome him to this big online family of ours. Tell him his benefactor sent you!
