Looking at the Sky on Friday - The Orange Version!

It's Friday so that means it's time once again for us all to look up and take a gander at the skies with that CrAzY Working Mom of three - Tisha! As a mom of three myself (though the first two were really spaced quite a few years apart), I spent a lot of time looking up myself though I think most of it was in supplication to the heavens and wondering "WHY??"

This week's pictures come courtesy of the great view I have from my job in dispatch and the beautiful sunrise that we had last Saturday morning which was the proverbial "calm before the storm" as it was snowing pretty heavily by 3:00 that afternoon. I guess this one was pretty accurate when it comes to the saying of "red in the morning, sailor take warning" even though a lot of the sky was orange!

Be sure to stop by the home of Looking at the Sky on Friday and follow the links to see what other people saw when they took the time to look up and not down. Oh, and feel free to tell Tisha I sent you!

  1. Gorgeous! I love high wispy orinch clouds! I'm glad I could bigger this to better appreciate the center shot. Love seeing the houses along the hillside, and the odd, large, rectangular building off to the right.

My photos today were also taken in New England looking out a window!

    Have a great Friday, Linda!

  2. Beautiful photo. I use to do the Sky Watch, but have run out of photos and our sky is really pretty boring, especially in the morning.

  3. Another great shot. Have a great Froday!

  4. Hi there! Came across your site via Misty'a Words (of, course, it was just *after* I found "the other" sky site) but wanted to say hello, as you have an interesting site here and I'm linking back here so I can find you again! (hope that's okay)

    Have a great weekend!

  5. i posted a sky today too but didn't realize it was the friday thingy!

    yours are lovely, as always!

    smiles, bee

Oh, Linda I LOVE this collage. Very nicely shot. I love the orange and blue contrasts. Nice job. THANKS so much for playing along. You so totally rock. :) ♥ ya, mean it! Happy Friday.

  8. The colors are just amazing, Linda. It's 5F here today with windchill of -30F. And another storm is coming over the weekend. I cannot remember last time that winter was this baaaad.
    Stay warm!

  9. Beautiful Linda. So peaceful and then, like you said...the calm before the storm.

Have a terrific Friday and weekend. Big hug. :)

  10. Once again, beautiful photography! Must remember the old sailors' saying:
    Red sky at morning,
    sailors take warning;
    Red sky at night
    Sailors' delight.
Beautiful as it is, I would say this falls in the warning category.

  11. Beautiful sky Linda and you captured it perfectly!

Cool. Love the complementary color study of the oranges and blues

  13. I love the way you put this together!! the colors flow

  14. Beautiful sunrise shots, Duchess Linda. Everyone was so complimentary, and rightly so.

Orange you glad you posted them?

    Nicely done collage.

  15. Ahhh, I love that orange!

  16. Linda, can't you make an honest living at photography? In my opinion, anyway.

The bits of moisture in the spheres make for a beautiful pastel palette in the Eastern Ct skies. A play on the old saying:

    Red skies at morning...
    dispatcher take warning!

  17. I "Biggified" the photos - breathtaking! It looks so crisp and cold.

  18. Absolutely breathtaking!!!! I'm really envious... I want snow and a beautiful sunrise like that.. ;-)

The sky looks fantastic. I have never seen it orange. I have seen it reddish but not like that. Funny you caught that right before it snowed.

  20. Awesome photo and great sky shot!
