A Green Lizard is a Happy Lizard

Thought I would come up for air for a couple of moments just to let everyone know that I am still alive though still up to my eyeballs in the whole moving business - literally.

As you can see by the picture of Evra here, he's adjusted quite nicely to the new digs and is a happy shade of lizard green. That, though, is probably partially due to the fact that nothing in his habitat changed - just the location of it!

I, on the other hand, am dealing with an apartment that looks like this ...

and this ...

partially because Amanda's room still looks like this ...

and we can't put anything in her room until it's done being painted which may not be until sometime next week at the rate she's going!

Ah well, at least my room came out nice with the painting and now looks like this ...
rather than the stark white that it was beforehand.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go tackle some of those boxes and bags and mounds of stuff and see if I can at least make a tiny dent in the disorder and chaos! I'd be heading over to the old place to get some more of the stuff still there except that it's snowing again today after a beautiful tease of a day in the low 50's yesterday! That's probably a good thing, though, as I really need to put some stuff away here before I add more to the mix!

I am hoping to return to the wonderful world of blogging on a regular basis sometime the end of this week but in the meantime, do know that I'm thinking of you all and missing having the chance to sit with a cup of coffee and catch up with everyone. This whole "change" stuff does have its disadvantages!

  1. ...and I'm sure the blogosphere misses you too, Linda! At least you're not moving in the heat of mid-summer w/soaring humidity - ugh! The paint job on your walls looks pretty cool, though, especially Amanda's room - neat idea w/stripes & all...! On this snowy day, take a few minutes to enjoy a hot cocoa & just stare out the window @ the snow you're NOT trudging through - very relaxing!

  2. Just have fun moving into your new digs. A month from now you'll just have but a memory of the move. Okay, I'm pushing that one a bit.

Have a terrific day and week. Big hug. :)

  4. Congrats on the successful move to the new digs. By my definition it's a successful move when no limbs are lost and nobody gets squished by a piano. As long as you can find the important stuff, and find a place to sit and put your feet up, the rest will wait.

  9. You're making me want to dig out my painting gear and start painting my living room! I love the colors in your bedroom. I'm always afraid to use colors that aren't neutrals. My khaki green choice for my bedroom was a huge leap for me! :)

  15. Your room looks lovely Linda. Get cracking that whip where Amanda is concerned otherwise you'll never be straight and won't have time for blogging! ;)

  16. I believe 'Lizard Green' is the perfect antidote for white walls! Your room looks great, the color, trim and hardwood floors all quite harmonious.

    That said, what a mess...

  17. The rooms look great, but given a choice in how to move, I think being a lizard is a great choice.

  21. Wow does that bring back memories. The house I'm in now was previously owned by professional interior house painters. Every room was painted with a theme like safari, barnyard, etc. We did a lot of painting before we moved in. I feel for you!

  22. I LOVE the colors. :) The stripes are beautiful but I'd be willing to bet that it takes forever to do.

Amanda still has a bit of work ahead, I see.
