Sunday Scenery

Stockton Palm Trees

No, no ... I've not been transported away to some warm paradise where palm trees sway in the breezes and fruity drinks come with tiny umbrellas ... I'm just wishing that I had been as I am heartily sick of this cold New England weather that we've had this winter. I know it's only February but enough already!!!

Anyhow, all carping about the weather aside, for Lee's Sunday Scenery meme I chose the above picture that I took while I was on vacation out in California last May. I came across it the other day while looking for some other pictures and it reminded me of what a good time I had out in Stockton even if it is the most miserable city in America!

Part of the good time was because of another picture I came across ...

So now I'm not only missing some warmer weather but hankering a big ole' plate of Mexican food, too! Sadly, I don't think I'm going to get either anytime soon ...

  3. The different colours of those palm trees are amazing and I love the angle it is taken in up towards the sun.
The food plate certainly looks delicious as I am a great friend of spicy food and I adore Guacamole.
Regards from a place even colder (probably) than yours.

  5. Like Michele, I like the perspective of the palm tree photo a lot. Very nicely done. I forget how picturesque California is. The only part of California I've seen is in the San Diego area, but it was beautiful. Unfortunately, when I was there about eight years ago, I had not rediscovered photography yet. Nicely done.

  6. Lucky for you to be experiencing the cold as you can do stuff to keep warm! But when the weather is so hot, even turning the air conditioner on doesn't help and our electric bill exceeds the household budget lol.

The first photo is extremely beautiful! Really great shot. That's nature for ya.

    Much Love,

  7. Sorry you can't get good Mexican food where you are Linda. Every time we head to the boat I look over where we had a great Mexican dinner long ago. Now I'm hungry for Mexican food too.

Have a terrific rest of the weekend. :)

  11. Nothing better than a good enchilada!
Is that a chili relleno I spy?
The palms look a lot like our neighborhood (and my previous back yard, sigh....).
***I haven't forgotten your meme - will post tomorrow. But I did forget Sunday Scenery! Sheesh!

  14. It's been cold here in Florida too. I can't wait for it to end. I know I can't compare our cold to yours though.

Man, that food looks so yummy. Feels like it's been ages since I've had good Mexican food. The one good place here changed owners and the food is not the same at all.
