Moonlight on Monday

When I got home from work this past Friday night, it was still fairly warm out so I grabbed the camera and my tripod in an attempt to see if maybe - just maybe - I could get a nice picture of the half moon that was overhead. I couldn't ... but I did get this rather nice picture of the moon peeking out from behind the tree in my front yard along with a couple star glints, too.

Moon behind the tree

One of these days I'm going to get a nice picture of the moon but in the meantime, guess I'm going to have to keep working on it! I can think of worse things I could be doing!

  1. I tried to get a pic of the almost full moon on Sat but was unsuccessful.
It was so bright we hardly need a flashlight to walk around camp.

  3. Moonlight on Monday... sounds like the makings of a photo meme. Just saying.

I love this photo! Especially love that you were able to pick up the stars. I have never been able to do that!

  4. The stars are very cool. Were there more than just those 3 in the sky?

  9. The moon & stars are cool! Nicely done, Linda! After seeing the pictures herself, "Mrs. Bulldog" agrees - great job behind the lens! Be hearing you soon! :-)

  10. This picture could be on the wall at your photo exhibit...but what to call it? 'Peek-a-Boo' or something light with words to offset the dark skies. Defining 'art' can be difficult!

  13. Actually, Kevin this one was with your telephoto lens and my NG filter. Still not close enough to get anything other than a glow of light in the sky I'm afraid.

  15. I say keep trying, because if they all come out like this, you will have an awesome library of images to share. This is great, love those starry sparkles.

  16. I think this is absolutely wonderful.
I can feel the crispness in the air - the kind of evening I'd love to take a walk in.
    Kinda spooky, too!
