Sunday Scenery

Just enough time for a quick post today sandwiched in between yesterday's work shift, a nice evening out with Ralph and Patti - Blogging Royalty who came in from The Uplands for chowdah and conversation - and today's 16-hour dispatch bonanza.

For Lee's Sunday Scenery meme I chose this photo that I took a couple of Saturdays ago down by the Long Island Sound in New London. I was using a friend's borrowed telephoto lens to see how I liked it and even though I did, finances are such right now that buying one of my own is not really an option. I'm thinking that when I fly west next month, I may just rent a lens from one of the many places online that have them available. It's something I'm kicking around at any rate.

In the meantime, everyone have a great Sunday! It's going to be a chilly, drizzly, sorry-excuse-for-Spring day here in Connecticut but at least I'll be nice and dry watching chick flicks in between 911 calls and dreaming of warmer days to come. Soon, I hope!

  2. Love that shot, it's got me hankering after the sea but it's too cold here to go to the seaside. It is, however, bright and sunny so that makes a change. :)

  3. This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

  7. I love this photo! Wasn't it nice of that lone seagull to pose for you?

I just went over to 'meet' Patti. I hope she gets to feeling better. I've seen Ralph around a time or two, perhaps the Looking at the Sky meme?

Enjoy your chick flicks! It's Bingo with the Biddies for me. :]

  9. This shot reminds me of the beach I stopped at on the way to CT in 2007. My camera was acting up (argh) ...I think it was Pebble Beach(?) ....no,that doesn't sound right. Anyway, there was a 9/11 memorial there because you could see the place where the Twin Towers stood from that spot. It was cold and rocky and windy not like any beach I'd been to before. But still beautiful.

This is a beautiful shot, Linda.
Now I'm going to go nuts trying to remember the name of that beach.
