A New Look for an Old Blog

The Resident Artist (aka the Resident Zombie aka the Oldest Daughter) told me that it was long past time I updated the artwork on the header of my blog as a) she no longer had green hair b) she was no longer enamored of squids and c) she felt that her artwork had vastly improved since she did the last drawing.

With all of those reasons, how could I possibly say 'no'? Exactly - I couldn't! The only problem was going to be in the changing of the actual artwork as Se7en, the designer of my blog template, has completely disappeared from the Blogosphere and we were going to have to figure it out on our own. Luckily I have the pieces of the template stored in my Photobucket account and even luckier, Amanda knows how to use Photoshop so she was able to take the old artwork out and replace it with her "new and improved" version.

A lot of you aren't going to quite get what the new artwork is all about but I know for a fact that some of you are and even though I don't quite get the whole of it yet myself I am learning - slowly but surely!

In the meantime, we'll continue to travel through our own little bit of time here at "Are We There Yet??" with or without a Tardis and I do hope you'll enjoy the new look! By the by, Amanda would love any feedback you'd like to give her - good or bad - on her artwork so please leave a comment if you have a moment.

  1. Did you ever watch the Sonny & Cher show? She had a bit she did - Vamping. Well, that's what I thought of when I saw Amanda's new artwork header. Amanda gives new meaning to a "Vamp" in "vamp, tramp and a bit of a scamp." And by that I mean that Amanda seems to have a thing for the macabre, because she looks like a ghoulish Vampire meets Young Frankenstein. I think she's very talented with a quirky sense of humor!

  2. I love the new header - the style of the artwork is the same, but now more 'polished' -- and I love the TARDIS, and the fact that K-9 is there (and that Amanda is holding the Sonic Screwdriver!)... so, does this mean that Amanda is going to be the first Emo Companion for the good Doctor?
    All-in-all - I give the 'revamp' a big Thumbs UP!
    ps: I searched London for a TARDIS-esque blue call box, but they were either red or just plain... you'd think they'd put up a BLUE one for us pesky tourists!!!

  3. Sadly you can count me among those that don't quite understand, but I still appreciate quality art, and it looks great!!!

  4. I like it Linda. Very well done. Sometimes you just need a little sprucing up to make things nicer.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  5. The style change is outstanding. I like you with that critical eye as to the picture you took. All three girls are cute in the art. Wonderful family 'fun'...

  7. Love it, love it, love it. And I am so impressed that you managed to change the header without the help of a pro.

  8. I love the changes. Amanda's artwork keeps getting better. These drawings are so much more refined than the previous ones. Great work!

    I like the "Allons-y" on the police box but alas I don't know what it is referencing. Some movie or book that I am clueless about. I have no idea what TARDIS is..but the sign is in French and that's good enough for moi.

  10. I must agree with the Rez - if she doesn't mine the nickname - that her artwork has improved. There is excellent depth and movement in that piece.

    Well done!

  18. Okay, I'm totally uncool - I don't get the reference, but art, now that's something I actually know about! If Amanda doesn't pursue her talents, I'm gonna personally get my butt to Norwich and bop her noggin.
    Not a threat, just letting her know that she has a fantastic talent! I loved the prior header but you can really see where she's getting better and better~!~
    Go for it, girl!!!!!!!!
    ~~~Blessings~~~
  19. What a talented girl you've got there! Great artwork. Course, I don't "get" all the references, either, but I'm gonna assume that's 'cause they're "inside" jokes, and NOT that I'm slow-witted!!
    Have a wonderful weekend, all!
