Time once again for my friend
Tisha's
Looking at the Sky on Friday meme and even though she's a major fan of Kris Allen going into the finals of
American Idol next week, I can certainly forgive her that and participate in her meme in spite of the fact that I am a major fan of Adam Lambert and am hoping he takes the title. However, even if he doesn't, I'm sure he's got himself a career all ready to go and if by some chance Kris does manage to win I won't begrudge him the title as I think he's darned good, too. Matter of fact, it's been a tough season as there were
so many good contestants this year it was hard not to root for more than one of them! Well, with the exception of Megan Joy that is - her I didn't like at all!
Anyhow,
Idol chatter aside (yes, pun intended!), for this week's meme I chose one of the shots that I took from the window of my Southwest Airlines flight out to Las Vegas on April the 28th so I guess you could say that I was looking down at the skies rather than up at them as we were cruising at about 36,000 feet!

The big black area to the left of the picture is actually one of the planes engines as we were sitting just ahead of the wing on the left hand side of the plane as you're flying west. The only complaint I have with Southwest is that they need to keep their windows a little cleaner so that folks like myself who insist on taking pictures can get clearer ones!
Speaking of folks taking pictures, don't forget to click on over to
CrAzY Working Mom and see what skies other people have posted. Have a great Friday while you're at it!
Hi Linda, aren't those clouds pretty when you're close up!
ReplyDeleteI thought of doing that too but instead did another part of the ground trip.
I know Southwest flies north to Manchester, is that where you flew from? Or Ipswich?
We have a whole airport here in Houston dedicated to Southwest, everything is bigger in Texas. :-)
Happy SkyLooking,
..
I just love looking from the windows in the plane! Next time, I'll carry a bottle of Windex, though. I know what you mean! Southwest also lost our luggage last summer when we came back from Oklahoma. We had to wait two days to get it back...it could've been the other way, so it definitely could've been worse!
ReplyDelete~~~Blessings~~~
Oh that's so funny! my entry this week is photos from an airplane too! One of them looks eerily similar. I agree about the windows, not many of my photos came out.
ReplyDeleteit's nice you captured the clouds up above the airplane. what a fabulous view. happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI also love looking UP at the sky or DOWN from an airplane!
ReplyDeleteI missed this season completely beacuse of the school, but will be back on the AI wagon for next season :o)
ReplyDeleteCool window shot. My daughter is traveling to DC and NY next month so I'm going to encourage her to get a shot out the window if she can. It's just not a sight you can see everyday.
ReplyDeleteWow cool shot from the plane. Any luck in Vegas? - lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the AI thing. I can't believe Kris got in and not Danny. Adam better win or I'm going to be so mad. I tried to call to vote for Adam the other night and tried for 2 hours and only got through 3 times!
I really like your photo! Thanks for sharing.
really cool--looks like a puzzle!
ReplyDeleteA woman after my own heart...views from an airplane! Great pics, Linda! Isn't it funny how drastically different the world looks from ABOVE the clouds?
ReplyDeletegreat peeks of the earth thru those amazing clouds!
ReplyDeleteI love Southwest! The attendants are always so funny, and my flights have always been on-time or ahead of schedule!
ReplyDeleteAnd I won't complain about the dirty windows, as long as I arrive safely, I'm good!
Everytime I fly I feel you could just walk on the clouds. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat I saw on the way home tonight was heavy rain and forked lightning!
ReplyDeleteLinda, the picture is wonderful. Of course, I like the views from upstairs. You could easily crop out the engine to let us feel as if you are soaring personally. Or keep it real without an edit.
ReplyDeleteThe clouds were kind enough to leave a little view of the ground...
We shall be in the 'skies' in about 5 weeks for our annual pilgrimage.....I am not looking forward to it one little bit. Those international flights are absolute killers.
ReplyDeleteHoping you and yours have a delightful weekend. I know understand the meaning of TGIF!
Cheers
Another good picture Linda! When I am riding a plane I love to look-out of the window and see the clouds, it give you a feel of relaxation and serenity.
ReplyDeleteWow Linda, such a great view from the above the skies!
ReplyDeleteHope you can visit mine too. :)
Happy week-end.
Seems like those clouds are very close indeed! Great shot ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
This shows you how far behind I am in my reader. I'm just now getting to this post. Obviously Kris has already been crowned the winner, and you're right that Adam will still be a "supah star". They're both great performers and it was an awesome season. I'm with you on the tattooed girl. Her dancing was worse than her singing if that's possible!
ReplyDeleteI love this shot looking down through the clouds. It's truly a bird's eye view there isn't it?!
