"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!'
Merely this and nothing more."

Now I just need to get Amanda to do a painting of a raven to put next to it and I think we've got some nice artwork to hang on the dining room wall. Hmm, I wonder what kind of frame to get??
She did a great job!
ReplyDeleteGoing back to the conversation Amanda and I had at OG, she needs to experiment with the following using watercolors for fun effects: sprinkling salt on wet paint, dropping rubbing alcohol on wet paint, and using rubber cement to block out paint on the paper. Can you pass that on?
Can you email me your snail mail addy so I can send you your cake (and something for Amanda)? Amanda's box will be sent out after we get home in TN.
Yep saw this when she posted on FB. Thought it was amazing! She has given this guy a personality.. Well Done... A Raven.. hmm to hang at the kitchen table.. interesting.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this! Some freaky Dorian Gray esque thing would be cool :)
ReplyDeletei think it is totally tits! and i would get a thrift store frame, no glass of course, and spray paint it shiny black...

Linda,
ReplyDeleteRun don't walk to the nearest gallery that handles emerging artists. This doesn't belong on your wall, it belongs on a wall with a large price tag attached. This piece is really, really good.
I think I'd just hang it gallery-style. It doesn't need a frame. It is awesome. What talent!
ReplyDeleteAmanda's work is just getting better and better! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the no frame suggestion. Wow, Amanda is very, very talented.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day Linda. Big hug. :)
She's so talented. I see alot of emotion in this portrait.
ReplyDeleteI recognised it was Poe before I read the name. A super picture from Amanda.
ReplyDeleteI also knew it was Poe. I'm glad she's expanding her horizons. This is great!!
ReplyDeleteWwo what a great talent she has. I knew it was Poe before I finished reading the bottom of the post. She needs to find a art show somewwhere and enter this piece.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's really impressive.
ReplyDeleteI didn't need to see who it was, either! I agree with the gallery format - the frame's not needed.
ReplyDeleteLois is so right. Experimenting is half the fun of finding who you are as an artist, and which medium is the most exciting.
I'm SO happy for her because she's using her talents. Way to go, girl!!!
~~~Blessings~~~
wide plain solid black frame of course
