I've not joined in on my friend Tisha's
Looking at the Sky on Friday meme in a couple weeks but while looking at some pictures I'd taken earlier this year I came across the below shot. I'd be willing to bet that there are couple of my blog friends who'd be able to tell me
exactly where this shot was taken - let's see if they can!

For more great sky shots, be sure to stop by
Tisha's and say 'hi' while you're there!
It's a beautiful picture...but were you in some sort of hovercraft while taking it? It looks like you took it while floating in the air just off the road!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! Looks like you were on a Scenic Overlook in the switchbacks of a mountain range. Nope - No clue which one! Is that snow on the mountain tops in the background?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, looks familiar, but I can't place it. Beautiful is what it is!
ReplyDeleteLake Tahoe area?????
ReplyDeleteI am guessing the foothills of the Sierras )given y our trip to the Golden State) or if you sidetracked into the western Maryland Allegheny mountains. Wherever it was, beautiful views. I would be a little concerned with my very tall van, driving while peering over that stone 'guardrail' looking into the valley...
ReplyDeletereminds me of the tennessee mountains or western n. carolina but i don't think it is...

I have absolutely no idea where you were; but I love the photo. The illusion that you were not land bound when you took it is fun. The landscape in this is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteCalico Contemplations
You're making me homesick again.
ReplyDeleteThat's one fab sky picture Linda. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the road going up to Bear Mountain in upstate New York just below West Point
ReplyDeleteLooks like Smokey Mtn National park, but it isn't is it?
ReplyDeleteKat
I haven't a clue where you took this photo but it sure s pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou find great locations to take pictures, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you were in California when you shot this one ... laughing at Mags' comment that you were in a hovercraft!
ReplyDeleteIt does look that way.
Beautiful scenery wherever you took it, Duchess Linda.
P.S. Yes, we certainly are a far cry from Europe. I do hope you get there someday!
ReplyDeletehmmm...gee...I wonder?
ReplyDeleteThe first thought I had was Tahoe coming out of N heading south on I-80 (???), but I've driven on a lot of roads that look like that. I'm guessing Tahoe.
ReplyDeleteWherever on earth it is,it's heavenly!
~~~Blessings~~
Looks like you were on a Scenic Overlook in the switchbacks of a mountain range. You find great locations to take pictures. Gr8!!!! Thanks for sharing.
