Wednesday Wonderings ...

Why is it that when you think you have all of your bills paid off, another one shows up in your mailbox that very same day? The never-ending cycle is so discouraging!

Why is it necessary for someone to pull out in front of you and then slow down to a crawl when there are no cars behind you anywhere? There must be a big sign on the front of my car that says "pull out now!" because it happens all the time.

Why do people seem to think it's okay to throw their cigarette butts out of their car windows like the world is their big ashtray? That drives me completely and totally nuts and many a time at a stoplight I have been tempted to get out and throw the darned thing back in their window! The light usually changes before I can carry that out, though.

When did boxes of ice cream get to be so small while the prices have continued to go up? These days you can barely get a couple good servings out of one - might as well just grab a spoon and forget dirtying a bowl!

Where have all of the bloggers gone? Seems like there used to be so many posts in my Google Reader I could barely keep up and now there are hardly any. Is everyone over on Facebook playing Farkle and Farmtown?

When did it happen that football started before baseball ended? I just don't seem to remember the seasons overlapping when I was younger like they do now - or maybe I just wasn't paying attention!

Where did the seasons go and why are there so many leaves on my lawn already? It's only the middle of September and way too soon to break out a rake but I just might have to before long.

Would anyone be interested in commissioning a painting or drawing by Amanda? She's trying to earn some money for a few things she'd like and thought maybe her talent could be put to good use. I guess she's starting that whole "starving artist" thing at a very early age!

Who was the first person to ever look at a lobster or a crab and think "that would make for good eating"? Or even worse - a snail??

Why is it that I wake up with good intentions on my days off to get things done around the house and I end up going to bed with them still not done? Where do the hours and my ambition go?

Oh well, speaking of which, there are a few things I'd like to get done around the house today before I go into work for the afternoon so I'd best hop to it and step away from my Facebook page!

Creditors (and kids) smell that unauthorized cash in your pocket.

Because you sat down at your computer! It's a black hole and sucks you in, along with time, light, matter, anti-matter and energy. bwahahahaha!

I've been thinking of having some unique art pieces in the babies room. Does she only do the "macabre" style? I would love something abstract in pink and brown? to match the crib set we picked at target. Do you think she'd be up for something like that?? https://www.target.com/Circo-1218T-Baby-Comforter-Flowers/dp/B001M5JUAI/ref=in_de_detail-item-display?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=0TJMFHCJ2K6QTPG8QZA9&pf_rd_p=481698511&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_m=A1VC38T7YXB528&pf_rd_t=201

  5. I love escargot. One of my favorite appetizers. Lots of garlic and don't forget the hot French bread. Yummy.

I'm going out to check my car to see if I have that sign too. Happens to me all the time as well. Drives me up the wall.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

  7. The sports seasons started overlapping about the time Halloween got confused with Christmas.

On the bill front my quote when in similar circumstances: "Everytime I get over the poverty line, they move the line"

  9. What Barb said...but we don't want to be w/o a puter! Great questions...and we don't always have any answers.

  10. It was probably a rhetorical question, but I'm a sports geek so I looked it up.

In 1950, the first NFL game of the regular season was played on 16 Sept, a Saturday, between Cleveland and Philadelphia. Cleveland won.

The 1950 World Series was played from 4 Oct through 7 Oct between the Yankees and Phillies. The Yankees won in a sweep.

Football and baseball seasons have overlapped for quite awhile.

  12. why is it the first thing you do after washing folding and putting away ALL your laundry.....is take off your clothes and throw them in the hamper?

why is the empty box of trash bags always the first thing to go in the last trash bag?

    who needs a bowl?

when you see a blogger...send them to my place...my hits are >25 a day now....what did I do to tick everyone off??

hunger makes good sauce. sides..are you complaining?? I mean come on! Lobster, oysters, escargot, calamari, turtle soup, frog's legs, crawfish (cooked any way) are GOOOOOOOD!! ~~now I'm hungry.

    that's why I keep a todo/goals list...otherwise I piddle around and never accomplish anything.

    happy farming.

  13. Love the lobster thing. I've wondered what was going on when they realized that milk would turn to butter, or that eggs would whip up into whites?
I like snails, too - but it's the garlic butter!

  14. On the bills -and then, more bills thing -I've come to the conclusion that not only do washers (and dryers too) apparently "Eat" socks but they have a direct link to one's checkbook and know immediately when things are looking like you might be operating in the black so that's when they immediately break down completely. (The same applies to other small appliances too.) And thanks for validating my thoughts about ice cream containers too. Nice to know I'm not the only one who sees the law of diminishing returns from an ice cream carton.
The food questions have always caused me to wonder although I'm really glad someone did find out about crabs, lobster, egg whites(from someone else's comment) and such.
Great post Linda with lots of questions to stir up a whole lot more!

  16. Hey, I've been asking all these questions to myself as well! hehe All I know, whoever decided that lobster, crab and snails would be good for eating should be shot! lol None of those on my plate!!!! Bleck! I still say that someone has taken a couple of hours off a 24 hour day because I just can't seem to get as much done as I used to...not enough time in the day! See? lol I have Facebook as well but don't spend a lot of time on it. I even let my crops get ruined in Farmtown...waaaaaaaaaaaa!! hehe xoxo
