For awhile now I had been kicking around a new blog design but just hadn't gotten around to actually doing anything about it due to the fact that I really have become an excellent procrastinator of late! However, I guess Amanda got tired of hearing me "think about it" so she took matters in her own artistic hands and here you have it - the new look of an old blog.
Yes, it's darker but I rather like it (correct me if I'm wrong but I think it makes the pictures
pop more, yes?) and I would be willing to bet that if I ask every once in awhile Amanda might even update the artwork again for me when she gets tired of looking at her own design.
For now, though, I guess the answer to the question "Are We There Yet?" is going to be a resounding "Nevermore!"
Oh, and speaking of artwork, here's
Amanda's latest attempt with acrylics and a famous author -

This is HP Lovecraft, another master of American horror, fantasy, and science fiction who is commonly regarded as one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century. Together with Edgar Allan Poe, Lovecraft exerted an incalculable influence on succeeding generations of writers of horror fiction prompting Stephen King, one of my favorite authors, to call Lovecraft "the twentieth century's greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale." As you can probably guess, his stories are right up Amanda's rather dark alley!
I wonder who's next? Alfred Hitchcock perhaps??
wow, very poe-ish!!! nice...

ReplyDeleteNice job, Amanda.
ReplyDeletePoe is one of my favorites, and so is Eward Gorey - your template re-design evokes both for me.
Congrats!
And Linda - sorry I've been away so looooong from your blog!
Love ya,
Mo
Love it! The colors are actually very nice and makes reading easier on the eyes. Love the new painting. We're off to the great North. See you in a few days.
ReplyDeleteSuper-cool! I love the new look!
ReplyDeleteGreat job.
Nevermore...no way! ForeverMORE...art...from Amanda, that is! I am soooo impressed.
ReplyDeleteAmanda did an awesome job!
ReplyDeleteMuahaha. Nice, Amanda. (:
ReplyDeleteLove the new design, Linda! Very creative! Amanda did an amazing job. Her artwork is impressive as well.
ReplyDeleteAnother winner of a design by Amanda. In time for Halloween it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI do like the darker color of the background, and the header is excellent.
ReplyDeleteThe only issue I might have is that the text is a little difficult for me to read. Not impossible, but not as comfortable as dark letters on a light background.
Oh no! you are going to think I copied you!! I also changed my template.. just a few hours ago. I was getting tired of the old one, and getting tired of waiting for Cameron to build me a site. he will someday...I hope!
ReplyDeleteI love the your new blog design and the cool lettering. Amanda is so artistic!
Have a great Saturday.
My she went all out. It certainly is appropriate for the season. I love the look of it.
ReplyDeleteEverything fits but it's a bit hard for me to see. I've got a bad eye that is going to have surgery pretty soon. Dark isn't my friend right now. Hope that changes soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. :)
she did a great job...creative spawn that she is...
ReplyDeletenice.
ReplyDeleteI'm still looking for the right template. happier with the new one, but it isn't quite right...
