For Tisha's Looking at the Sky on Friday meme this week I thought it appropriate to use a picture from my journey home from Vermont on Wednesday. This shot was taken at approximately 65 mph while heading southbound on Interstate 91. As you can see, it was a nice open road with virtually no traffic to speak of - ideal driving conditions in my humble opinion - especially if one has decided that's a good time to take a picture!
Speaking of the road, I'm heading back up Interstate 91 today to pick up Amanda's friend Sami from college in Massachusetts so that she and Amanda can go see Alice in Wonderland on its opening day. Unfortunately, there will be a lot more traffic than what is in this picture but with enough good music on the iPod I should be able to handle it. Whether or not I'll be able to handle a weekend packed with teenage giggling might not be as easy though!
Be sure to click over to CrAzY Working Mom to link on to some great Friday sky shots. Why, I'd be willing to bet there might even be some sun in some of them!
i swear you are the BEST mom, i sure hope you are appreciated!

I like the photo, but agree with Bee...and that attribute is more important! Enjoy your w/e.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs...
I-91 in Connecticut always seems to be crowded with cars at all times (that I happen to be traversing the road, anyway), and this is even past Springfield. Your view of sky and road surface, with no traffic, is a treat for all travelers...
ReplyDeleteWhat Miss Bee said, and what I have said many times! You sure do a lot for and with your kids and that's a wonderful thing!
ReplyDeleteThe sky looks very wintery. Brrr.
Big hugs xo
Gorgeous! No traffic and a clean windshield - who could resist?
ReplyDeleteI hope you survive the giggles.
PERFECT driving feng shui. Have fun and stay sane... Bwahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI love driving on open roads like that with no traffic to stop me from taking pictures while driving! lol Saying that, you should have seen what happened yesterday while I was driving down a side road. I made sure there were no cars coming behind me and I slowed right down to take a few pictures...I look up and there`s a truck right on my tail. Don`t know where the heck he came from but he was none too happy! lol He passed me at a high speed and made sure he splashed my car by driving right through a puddle. Jerk! lol xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Amanda appreciates what you do for her. :)
ReplyDeleteThe iPod will help with the giggling.
ReplyDeleteit is a beautiful sky shot...you know I am fond of long road perspectives...
I grew up in Northern Vermont, so this one really gave me a smile.

What a lovely stretch of road, it appears as if you could take off into the clouds at the top of the next hill. Have fun this weekend, I'm sure it will be entertaining. ~ Calico Contemplations
ReplyDeleteI hoped you waved at me when you passed exit 46 on 91! :) That photo almost looks like a roller coaster. great shot...
ReplyDeleteThat's the kind of road I like too!
ReplyDeleteA sweeping road. Enjoy the weekend with Amanda and Sami.
ReplyDeleteWe must discuss my love of empty roads and railroad tracks sometime. :-) That is a great shot and to see that image as "Discombobulate" starts playing ... Wow! You almost expect something very very dramatic to happen next.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of some Vermont scenery. It does look as if one could drive straight into the clouds up the next hill.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great mom! Hope they keep the giggling to a low roar.
