All good things must come to an end and that includes mini-holidays to Vermont. It's going to take me a little time to get pictures and all sorted out but I didn't want to not post something of my adventure so I will leave you with this for the time being:
I wasn't aware that a LOT of roads in Vermont are of the unpaved variety which tend to turn to mud once things start to thaw - which they had! Consequently, roads like the one above led to my car looking like below:
But that's okay because those roads also led me to views that look like this:
And this:
More to come once I get my 400+ pictures sorted through and edited and I promise there will be covered bridges!
Now Vermont is a place I've always wanted to visit. Beautiful. Will await more pictures of your adventure.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. Big hug. :)
OOOH, I can't wait to see your pics...

I can smell/taste the maple syrup! Makes me think of the show with Bob Newhart in which he played the owner of a bed & breakfast - and was constantly plagued by Larry, Larry, and brother Darryl! It may have been in Maine, I forget, but that same scenery.
ReplyDelete~~~Blessings~~~
Can't wait to see those photos. It is beautiful country up there. Dang cold, too!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs...
Oh, I love the creek in the snow pic.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your covered bridges!
I'm SO glad that you went and took some time for yourself!
Love ya,
Mo
I've never been to Vermont either -but would like to go there someday. (Never been to any of the New England states for that matter -so you know how much I've missed there for sure, huh?)
ReplyDeleteBut I loved these pics you posted thus far. And dirt roads, huh? Hmmm for me, where I live in PA -that's a bit like where I live. Although the road in front of my house is paved, it becomes a dirt road about a quarter of a mile down from my house and there are oodles of dirt roads in the woods down there!
It is truly beautiful in Vermont. I've been there in autumn - in the 70s. Long time ago!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to take a mini-vacation, Duchess Linda of Norwich-Upon-Thames.
I like the shot of the stream with the melting snow on its banks. Looking forward to more of your photos.
I have friends from Vermont and one of my sisters goes there a lot, but I have never been. It is on my list of Must Go Destinations. Ever since the first time I saw White Christmas I've wanted a week in a Vermont Ski Lodge by the crackling fireplace. No skiing for me, though!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind myself getting covered in mud, never mind my car, to see views like that!
ReplyDeletethe scenes are so different from mine they are captivating. Looking forward to the rest!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the unpaved Vermont roads either.
ReplyDeleteYour photos so far make me want to visit Vermont even though I'm getting sick of the cold weather here in Florida. I've never been to VA, but it's on my list of places to see. Looking forward to seeing more of your trip.
ReplyDeleteSo far totally beautiful. I really like the unpaved road.
ReplyDeleteWell at least your car didn't end up stuck in the mud, that's the important thing.
ReplyDeleteMy car looks just like that too at the moment! lol Oh my, what beautiful scenery you got to see in Vermont. I look forward to seeing more pictures!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents lived on a dirt road in Vermont for 40+ years, I spent every summer there during my childhood. I can't wait to see more pictures from your trip.
ReplyDeleteYay! A photo adventure. The best kind. Can't wait to see the results.
