"The best laid plans of mice and men ... "

It had been my well-meaning intention to actually do some blogging on Wednesday and get caught up with everyone but whereas I was able to remove myself from the computer and resist the call of the Photo-Editing Sirens (who have a very alluring song I might add!), I didn't get any blogging done as other aspects of life got in the way.

Wednesday was my monthly get-together with my friend Rhonda so I had to get out of my warm and cozy bed way too early for my liking to meet her for breakfast and the chance to catch up on our lives over coffee.  I like it so much better when we do lunch rather than breakfast!  Regardless though, we had a nice time and she even brought me a bag of fresh rhubarb and some strawberries so that I can make a strawberry-rhubarb custard pie provided I can find the recipe I used last year!  Her timing couldn't have been better as one of the gals that I work with had just asked me on Tuesday when I was going to make another one and bring it into work with me.  Right now I'm shooting for Monday for that task if all goes well.

Today will be my usual 16-hour Thursday so I'm afraid there will be no blog visiting today either and if memory serves me correctly, I think I am meeting my cousin for lunch on Friday (though I could be wrong).  Friday evening I'll be attending an art show/awards ceremony with Amanda at Norwich Free Academy where she tells me that she's getting some sort of an award.  Very cool!   Perhaps I can fit in some blogging in between Friday's activities as long as I can avoid the call of those Siren again!

Sometimes it just seems like life gets a little out of control where I've got all sorts of things going on at once but fortunately those are usually surrounded by periods of time where there's not much going on at all.  With any luck I'll get one of those soon so I can catch back up with all of you.  In the meantime, I haven't forgotten you - honest!

  2. Do what YOU want, when YOU want! Its the best way to ensure continued happiness. Though I know it's not always an easy thing to do. Don't worry about us, we'll still be here.

  5. I'm retired and still busy as ever. Well not as busy as when I was working, but busy. I think it's just the time of year too. Everyone is venturing outside again and that's way more fun than being holed up inside.

Have a terrific day and I'll be over on Monday for that pie. Big hug. :)

  6. Being busy is a good thing. Sometimes anyway. I don't have much going on right now aside from work and I'm kind of bored.

  9. I've never had rhubarb. In fact, I didn't really know what it was so I looked it up.

So it's a tart botanical veggie that gets used like a fruit?

  10. As much fun as "virtual" life can be, it adds balance to get out in the real world in ways that don't involve work or other duties. Hope you had a great visit.

  11. Yup...it always seems like I have tons of stuff going on at the same time and then nothing. And then it starts up again.

Thanks for checking in on me yesterday btw!

  12. As much fun as blogging can be, it is not as much fn as actually living your life to the fullest, or busiest as the case may be!

Congratulations to Amanda... again! That girl is definitely going places!

    Big hugs xo
