"Be It Ever So Humble ..."

... there's no place like home!

As much as I enjoyed my trip to Florida and meeting some of the nicest people south of the Mason-Dixon Line it was really nice to touch back down at Bradley Field in Hartford last night - especially after the pilot told us that it was a nice cool 63 degrees on the ground!  Lordy Lordy, I don't know how ya'll live down there in that swelterin' heat! I do declare, it was way too hot for this ol' Yankee!

Anyhow, I've got lots of photos to go through and not a whole lot of energy to do so right at the moment after driving 703 miles since last Friday night!  I do believe I am in need of a bit of a rest first but I promise to try to get some posts together as soon as I get the lawn mowed, do some laundry, figure out what I'm wearing to Amanda's graduation on Friday, go in to work a shift tomorrow, feed a couple of hungry teenagers, and ... well, you know!

Jamie at Florida Rest Area

  1. Welcome home! I feel the same way-I'm a New Englander at heart and couldn't stand the heat when I lived down there.

I can't get over how grown up Jamie looks.

  2. I can't stand the heat, but I can tolerate that far better than I can the 5 months of winter in New England. It's the lesser evil for me.

Air Conditioning makes it possible. Without that, I could not do it!

I see you found a rest area billboard made just for you!

Welcome home, but hurry back, OK?

    Big hugs xo

  3. What Barb said. I'm not a snow person, I'm a fair weather person. I like the heat far better than the cold. I don't like wearing socks and shoes. Flip flops are more my style.

I'm glad you are back home. Get some rest and look forward to the next graduation.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

  4. Welcome home, so glad you got back safe and sound:-) I'm like you, I don't know how people live in that kind of heat. I wilt when it reaches 80F! lol We had a cold front move in overnight and it's only 55F today but I'm not complaining. Tomorrow it should be back in the high 70's.

Love that picture of Jamie and look at that, your blog title on the picture behind her! hehe xoxo

  5. hot? it's not hot! it's perfect!

    smiles, bee

  6. That's a super picture. Welcome back, Linda.

  7. We arrived home to HOT in Mayberry, dang it. But, I'll still take that over harsh winters.

Great photo of Jamie. I didn't get one of her:( Where was my brain?

    Big hugs, honey. Welcome home...

Gosh, seeing photos of both your girls, they have really grown up this past year... I can't get over that.

Take your time with what you need to do. We'll still be here!

  9. Jamie has really matured into a beautiful young woman...And she smiles! You sure have two great girls!!! I love the poster! What a co-inky-dink.
Anxious, as usual, to see more photos.

  10. I'm glad you made it home safely!
