Happy 17th Birthday to My Baby!

Seventeen years ago today in a hospital less than three blocks from where I live now I gave birth to my youngest child - Jamie Jessica.  I think that for the very first time in those 17 years, Jamie isn't spending her birthday here in Connecticut but that's okay as we'll just wait to celebrate until she moves up sometime next month as long as things go according to plan.

Where the future will take her yet we don't know but she's already got her high school diploma in hand and I'm going to do my best to make sure that she has every opportunity at happiness and a career that she wants to do - not that she just has to do - as Amanda does.

In the meantime, I wish her a very happy birthday and hope that she knows that even though she's not here in person she is here in my heart and always will be.

Happy birthday, kiddo, and we'll get that ice cream cake you always love once you come back up to Connecticut - promise!
