I'm definitely getting a late start today being that I decided around 11:30 last night that perhaps a little Benadryl might be in order to insure a good night's sleep so I took one tiny teeny little pill ... thirteen hours later I'm finally starting to feel like I'm awake again thanks to a big ole' mug of extra dark roast coffee. Ah well, I knew when I took it that it was going to be a late day and at least I can say that I slept really, really well!
Anyhow, all that aside, this week's Five on Friday was inspired by a news blurb I saw on Yahoo! yesterday that Cher was going to no longer be performing at Caesar's Place in Las Vegas after February 5th. Her three-year run at the Colosseum will be coming to a close but apparently the 65-year old diva is planning yet another farewell tour sometime in the future. Yep, the beat certainly does go on!
Speaking of beats, don't forget to go by Trav's Thoughts and see what the other Five on Friday memers are playing on their blogs!
And she can still get into her "If I Could Turn Back Time" outfit ... Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI got you babe! LOVE IT!! I can just see Cher swinging that long hair while singing. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteAnd she can still get into her "If I Could Turn Back Time" outfit ... Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI always loved the Sonny and Cher show, especially her Vamp segment. She can Vamp like nobody else!
ReplyDelete13 hours? I doubt I've ever done that!
Big hugs :]
Old time favourites - Great!
ReplyDeleteCher looks amazing still - but that's more to do with plastic surgery than good genes I think. ;)
Still I wish I looked that good. :(
I loved them as a duo..some of Cher's solo stuff is great..some she phoned in...
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed listening to these tunes again,it's been a while since I listened to them
ReplyDeleteI loved watching the Sonny & Cher show when it used to be on and I went to see them perform live in concert in Toronto back in 1977:-) I've also always loved Cher's music and listening to the 5 songs you chose is bringing back so many memories!! xoxo
ReplyDelete'Gypsies tramps & thieves' is a great tune to sing!
ReplyDeleteThese two were a great singing duo.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
This is a fun one this week, Linda! My family used to watch the Sonny and Cher show all the time.
ReplyDeleteI Got You Babe and The Beat Goes On are my favorites from your set.
Linda - I'm pretty sure we were commenting on each other's blogs at the same time...
ReplyDeleteLOL!
Another great post.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Jennifer
It's funny how some songs make me smile from the first notes. A lot of S&C's songs do that.
