Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2011 - I hope it's a marvelous year in all ways for all of you! I trust that no one overdid it ushering out the old and ringing in the new but if you did, you might want to listen to the above video with the volume set a little lower than usual!
Amanda, Jamie, and I had a nice evening eating too much pizza, drinking soda, and watching Toy Story 3 and Inception on DVD. Toy Story 3 almost got me all choked up again for the second time (darn those toys!) and Jamie was totally lost watching Inception but I was able to pick out more things that I missed the first two times I saw it. If you've still not seen it then please, get thee to a DVD rental establishment and do so as it's really quite excellent though - yes - it may hurt your head in places! Honestly, if Inception doesn't win the Oscar for Best Special Effects, Best Soundtrack, and a handful of others then there's truly something wrong in Hollywood as Christopher Nolan and company did a truly outstanding job with every single part of that movie and Hans Zimmer did some amazing things with the music. Srsly!
I am happy to report that before any other words escaped my lips this morning when I awoke I remembered to say "Rabbits, Rabbits, Rabbits!" three times and then followed it up with "White Rabbits!" just to ensure that I have a fantastic year no matter which superstition you believe! Even without the luck of rabbits - white or otherwise - I intend on having a good year but it never hurts to pad things a little bit!
And finally, I've decided to start a new blog for the new year: Picturing A Moment in Time is going to be my daily Photo Blog where I'll be keeping my verbiage succinct - honest! I had thought about just doing a picture a day here on this blog but I tend to bog it down with all of my writing already so it seemed like a good idea to just start a whole new blog. If you'd like to stop by every once in awhile and leave a comment or two, I'd definitely appreciate it!
Now, if you'll excuse me there are things that need to be done around the house as well as a final post to finish up on the wonderfully historic Hawthorne Hotel - some things don't change no matter what year it is! I hope everyone has a fantastic start to 2011 no matter what you might find yourself doing today.
