I've Got the Blues ...

Where's a good blues singer when you need one because have I ever got the song for him or her!
I've got the blues ...
I've got the nothing-good-to-write-about,
don't-feel-like-visiting-other-folks,
need-to-take-a-break-away-from-blogging blues! ...
Maybe it's the time of year, maybe it's the fact that I seem to have no time, maybe it's just that I'm a little burnt out but I have really had no interest in my blog (or sadly pretty much the blog of anyone else) for a couple weeks now. I sit here and try to think of something to write that might be of interest and am basically coming up with zippola - heck, I don't even feel like posting pictures - which could also be because I haven't felt like taking pictures either!

I was chatting with Queen Mimi about it the other day via email and she suggested that perhaps I needed to take a Blog Break - rather like she is currently doing - just to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate. She might be on to something but the problem is that I have always felt an obligation of sorts to whatever readers I might have via The Norwich Bulletin (in spite of the fact that they never comment!) as well as all the other great people I have met via blogging.

However, that said and all guilt aside, I don't want to be posting something just to be posting something or leaving lame-ass comments on other peoples' blogs simply because I feel an obligation to visit. I'm pretty sure that's not what blogging is supposed to be about, right? Anyhow, while I kick this around for a bit and try to decide what I want to do, I thought I'd give you folks a chance to cast a vote and let me know what you think via a poll I came up with and/or you can certainly leave a comment (lame-ass or otherwise!) and tell me what you think. While you do that, I'm going to go see if I can find a harmonica ...

  2. For goodness sake don't feel guilty. You put so much effort and creativity into your blog that needing a break is perfectly understandable. Stick up a "Gone Fishing" sign. We will all still love you and enjoy it when you feel like returning.

  3. Blogging shouldn't be an obligation. It should be fun and enjoyable. When it's not, take a break.

  6. What Miss Bee said.

I don't blog at all when I don't want to, reading or writing. And you know what, that's perfectly fine!

  7. What Miss Bee and Barb said. Sometimes I get really tired too. My long weekends help a lot.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

  8. Linda, we all need to strike a balance. And you work so hard (lots of double shifts), lawn mowing, trips to Greene Airport. You have enhanced our worlds with your posts, we hope to see you back soon!

  12. Don't feel guilty, Linda. We'll be here when you return from your much-deserved blog break.

I don't feel like I've had much to write about lately, and am guilty of posting something just to post something.
I guess we are all too hard on ourselves sometimes!

Enjoy the time off that I presume you are going to take. Knowing you it won't be for long...

  17. I agree completely with Carol G. -do what you gotta do, Kid! We all -I think -have days, sometimes weeks or even longer periods when nothing is quite right but yet, nothing is really wrong, just out of sorts, out of energy, ambition, whatever. I think the common term is a blue funk or something like that, isn't it? I should know cause I'm in one right now too -big old fat doldrums. It'll pass, but when? That is the question. Peace.

We'll miss you but when you get back you'll be all refreshed and full of energy. Promise.

  20. To blog or not to blog. That is the question. The answer: do what is RIGHT for you. The end.

Big hugs to scare away those blues...

  21. It certainly must be the time of year because I feel the same way. There just aren't enough hours in the day to keep up...and Facebook is evil too. I can't do THAT and blog. *sigh*

Take a reading break, do some posting when you can...you'll feel better for it in the end, that's what I've been doing.
