Five on Friday - The Jo Dee Messina Version

Driving to work the other day, the first song in this week's selection of songs for Five on Friday  came up on my iPod and the thought occurred to me that I may have just stumbled across the inspiration for this week's set of songs for Travis' weekly musical meme. I listen to such a wide range of music that sometimes I forget about artists that I quite like and that was the case with Ms. Messina, whose voice I have always enjoyed. It was once said that her voice has a bit of Reba and a bit of Dolly in it but no matter who you think she sounds like it, I've always enjoyed her voice! I hope you do, too!

  2. I thought I was clicking on you in my reader and it opened up a 5 on Friday Irish recipe thingy... I was wondering where the songs were. It took a while for the light to go on because, Hello? FOOD! http://bit.ly/wdYovX

I remember Heads Carolina Tails California!

Have you discovered some must-dos for Canada yet? Have a lovely weekend!

  4. Ah, finally some music I can relate to! I absolutely love Jodee. Saw her in concert a few years ago. She's so down to earth, fabulous voice and great songs. I love "she'd never seen julie cry"!

  7. Great selections. I've moved away from country music lately. It just hasn't appealed to me for awhile. But Jo Dee is an artist I've enjoyed from note one.

  10. I'm a huge country music fan so of course I know who Jo Dee Messina is:-) I've loved her music ever since she first started recording, she has such a beautiful voice.

Hope you feel better soon my friend! My mom just called me and she sounds terrible, has now started a cold and cough. Sigh. I'm supposed to bring her to my brother Guy's place next Wednesday for the Sugar Bush so hopefully she'll be fine by then. We'll be staying until the next Monday so should be a fun time:-) xoxo

My current country obsession is Blake Shelton. Can not get his "Honeybee" song out of my head :)
