Five on Friday - The Heartthrobs of My Youth Version

Back in the early 1970's when I first became a teenager there were three guys whose posters could be found on the walls of almost all of my friends and - had I been allowed to have posters on my walls - would have been on mine, too.  David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, and Donny Osmond were three of the hottest guys going whilst I was going through my early teen years and I was no more resistant to their charms then the next gal.

Therefore, this week's Five on Friday is dedicated to a short stroll down Memory Lane while I share with you not five but six songs from three of the guys who dominated Sixteen magazine and whose music could most definitely be found in my collection of 45 RPMs - i.e, small vinyl!  Oh, and I'll let you in on a secret ... I still think Donny Osmond is pretty darned cute for a guy my age!

Don't forget to swing by Trav's Thoughts and see what tunes others are spinning!

  1. I like your song choices. I've never seen the partridge family, and I wish they would play reruns because DC looked so dreamy.

    Happy Friday, Linda.

  2. OMG... Bobby Sherman! I was actually watching some you tube videos of him last week. Did you know he became a cop?

I watched the Partridge family but never had a crush on David Cassidy. I was totally head-over-heels in love with Mike Nesmith... and then in the 80's it was Rick Springfield.

Actually, I think I still am in love!

Don't work too hard today! Big hugs :]

  3. You are behind me in the generational chain, but even I remember "Julie Do Ya Love Me". That whole era was a smile festival.

  4. "Julie, Julie, Julie Do Ya Love Me?" will be running through my head all day now!

"Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees. People say we monkey around.." - you may have been too young for Monkee fanhood

    have a good Friday.

  5. I remember those days but I was listening to Led Zep, Ozzy, Pink Floyd and ZZ Top.

I do remember watching the Partridge Family though, it was sometimes funny and doe-eyed Susan Dey was pretty easy on the eyes, but an awkward, wooden actress, lol

  6. Donny was the hottest of the three if you ask me.

What a fun Five on Friday.

Have a terrific day and weekend. Big hug. :)

  7. When I was little, people often sang Julie, Julie, Julie Do Ya Love Me to me.

Love the triple heart throb 5 on Friday, Linda! Of these three, I'm most into David Cassidy. But I agree completely with you about Donny Osmond. I worked at a performing arts theatre in Toronto that had Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat running from May-Sept. one summer, starring Donny. He was amazing. I could not believe how he made each performance fresh - as if he'd never said those lines ever before.

  10. Did you hear it? That was the squee from Pam because you mentioned Donny.

I remember The Partridge Family and thinking that Susan Dey was a hottie. Well, we didn't use the term hottie back then. I thought she was a fox.
