What a Difference a Few Days Can Make!

Before

Now You See It!

After
... And Now You Don't!

I shot the first picture with my iPhone as I was getting ready to leave for work Monday afternoon.  You can't really tell from the picture but the leaves were a beautiful bright yellow and very pretty.  It made me smile that this late into November there was still some pretty foliage to be found in random places.

I shot the second picture this morning after I returned home from dropping Amanda and two of her friends at the train station in Old Saybrook - big difference, huh?  I guess there's no fighting it, Old Man Winter is traveling in this direction and it looks like he's packed his bags for a long stay.  Seems to me he overstayed his welcome last season so I'm not about to sweep off the Welcome mat nor am I offering him a cup of coffee either!

  3. Our trees are finally turning colors, but you are well aware of how fall works in California. We are supposed to have some cold weather this weekend so I'm guessing the leaves will be falling rapidly here too.

Have a terrific day and stay warm. :)

  7. Well we had warm weather this week, nearly 70 degrees, and then I walked outside today to greet temps in the 40's, not to happy about that.

  8. That pretty much is how it looks here in nawth jawjah...bare and brown. Not pretty at all. And now cold. At least we have a cruise coming up soon!

Hope you are feeling better. Big hugs, honey...

  10. It does seem like not long ago that Winter was here, doesn't it...and now it's coming back! Ack! We haven't had our first snowfall yet but there were snowflakes flying around on and off today, although nothing stayed on the ground. I'd rather it wait until AFTER my trip to NF on the first weekend in December! lol Just hope I don't have to cancel it!!!

It sure doesn't take long for a tree to get bare. When we still had leaves on the trees (about a month ago!), there was one day when we had strong winds and that was it...trees were bare by the next morning.

Our annual Santa Claus Parade is tomorrow evening and I think I'd better dress warmly, it's supposed to be in the 20's. You'd think I'd be smart and just watch it on tv but noooo, I have to go out there and watch it in person! lol xoxo

  11. We had some big wind storms pass through and that took care of most of the leaves that had turned. But there are still some trees out back that are green. They are taking their sweet time about turning and dropping.

We did get a little bit of snow last night. Not enough to stick, but enough to make the front steps icy.
