Back to Baltimore, Part 5: The Hotel Brexton

Yesterday I posted the following picture and asked everyone to leave me their guesses as to what they thought it was. Everyone was pretty spot-on about it being a spiral staircase but most seemed to think that it was a spiral staircase in a lighthouse which is a good guess but not quite right. Granted, I did play around with the picture a little bit ...

Hmmm

To find out what the real answer is and to get a tour of one of Baltimore's best boutique hotels click here to read the whole story complete with the original picture at The Distracted Wandererer, my travel blog.

  1. Now that is definitely my kind of hotel! I'd go back, too! I love old architecture! However, I do love the modern amenities! They've got it all!

I have yet to stay at a hotel that offers a Keurig in the room! As Miss Bee would say, "Tits to that!"

    Big hugs :)

  2. Boutique hotels are where it's at. Much more personal and intimate. Plus they each have their own personality... When I was doing some work in San Francisco years ago, I had the opportunity to stay at a boutique hotel and I enjoyed every minute.

    Hospitality like no other.

  6. I didn't think it was a staircase. Probably because you altered it. Well it just didn't look real.

As for the hotel. Awesome. I would have loved staying there.

Have a terrific day Linda. 199 days until our cruise. Woo Hoo. Big hug. :)

  10. That is a wonderful hotel and one I would use in a heartbeat now that I've seen your photographs and read of your experiences. If you don't get your next visit comped in exchange for their new ready made brochure, they need some lessons in marketing. :-)

Interesting that ol' Wally Simpson lived there.

  15. The Brexton is stylish, a boutique hotel with character and great amenities (such as the bathroom in the turret). The top angular takes remind me of the Flatiron building in New York. A wonderful find!

  18. It was our first trip to balitmore, we had no idea of the area or the hotel, but once we made it to the hotel found some on street parking it was a great place. Clean, charming and some modern updates. 24 hr coffee tea room was great...Beautiful stairway! The staff was very friendly and gave us helpful information to help us get to the ballpark and inner harbor...Will be back in April 2011
