Disorganized R Us!

I've been having a little trouble getting back into the swing of things since getting home from Massachusetts late Sunday night.  I know for a fact that I am not making the best use of my time and yet, I can't seem to help myself.  I just want to sit mindlessly in front of the computer playing Farkle and Lexulous on Facebook or curl up on the couch and watch bad movies or DVR'd TV shows that have been waiting patiently in the queue.

There's probably really nothing wrong with that except that I have a ton of pictures I should be editing as well as a few posts to write about this past weekend, a few posts that I still want to write about Baltimore, other assorted posts that I want to write, blogging friends that I need to pay a visit to, and never mind the housework that has piled up!  I'm sure Jamie would love it if I'd help her clean up and organize Amanda's stuff a little bit so she could feel more settled into her new room but the best I've done so far is go to the Home Depot to buy a few more boxes and storage bins.

Sheesh ... and I call myself a Virgo!  I should be ashamed of my formerly immaculate and organized self!

On a positive note, I did get Jamie over to the hair salon today so that she could get her hair cut - something she has been asking me about since last week.  It's kind of funny that one of the first things that both she and Amanda did when they no longer lived with their father was request new hair styles which just goes to prove that they really are sisters whether they want to admit it or not!

I think her new cut looks great and the stylist assured her that it's very easy to get that spiky look in the back with very little effort. There's plenty of styling product left around the house that Amanda didn't pack off to college with her that she can use so we should be all set there and Lisa - bless her heart! - sent Jamie a box of make-up and jewelry and things yesterday that she absolutely loves so she's good in the "trendy" department, too. Now if I could just get motivated enough to help her straighten out her "new" room ... maybe tomorrow??

Oh, and is it just me or does Jamie look a bit like Sarah Palin in the picture with her hands up?  I mean, maybe it was just the moose antlers she was making over her head or maybe it's her glasses or maybe it's just that I need to wear my glasses more often or maybe I'm just crazy- always a distinct possibility!

  1. Sarah Palin? Somewhat.

    LOVE Jamie's hair. It's perfect.

I'm sorry that you aren't as organized as you once were. I too am a Virgo and I'm not as organized either. Wonder what happened to both of us? I don't know.

Have a terrific day. You'll work all this out. Big hug. :)

  2. Jamie's hair is perfect! Love it, and it looks sooo easy. That's also important.

Hey, it's OK to have discombulated days. Seriously.

    Big hugs, honey...

  3. I say minimize the "have to" and "need to" things and do more of the "want to" things!

Looks wonderful! A very trendy style indeed!

  5. it looks adorable! and give yourself a break, what's the hurry to get stuff done?

    smiles, bee

  6. If it helps, I also am not as organized as I once was. Sad but true. I get overwhelmed with stuff.

I've not been visiting my blog friends..I even posted about it today.

Love Jamie's haircut. It suits her! Have a good Wednesday, Duchess Linda.

  7. Your true bloggy friends completely understand that life happens. Laundry, organizing, LIVING is allowed to get in the way of blogging.

    Just saying.

So glad everything arrived in one piece and that she found something in there she likes. Makes me feel good to know it will get used, rather than sit around collecting dust at my house! :)

  8. Don't fret about what you've not done, it will get sorted eventually. Love Jamie's new hairdo and it's interesting that she and Amanda wanted to change their hair once they left their dad's isn't it?

  9. Moose Antlers? bwahahahaha! I thought they were Jazz Hands.

Actually, I think Jaime looks just like the perfect Jaime. I love her short 'do!

Give yourself a break. I use to be OCD about cleaning, but being married to a complete slob was extry exhausting and even I learned some dust is OK. Give yourself and Jaime some time to adjust to the new rhythm of your home.

    Big hugs :)

  10. She is SO CUTE!! I love it-and I love, love, love that their Mom is so cool and they feel free when they are with you.

    Well..to a certain extent. :)

  11. A great hairstyle. I like Sarah Palin's hair, as it happens as well!

  12. Don't faint, it's finally me! lol Now that my busy summer is over, I'm trying to get back into regular blogging again. I've just caught up with all of your latest posts and as usual thoroughly enjoyed each one of them.

I know how you felt when Amanda left to go to college, I remember well when my boys left, it was much too quiet in the house! lol Glad to hear that Jamie has moved in with you, though:-) I just LOVE her new hairstyle, it really suits her and I think you're right, she does look a bit like Sarah Palin in that one picture.

Those darn Facebook games! lol I'm addicted to Farmville and Farmtown and spend wayyyy too much of my spare time on them, although Steve was playing them for me most of the summer since I wasn't having much time for the computer. Being organized with our time is always a work in progress! lol xoxo

I love Jamie's hairdo... so cute!!!!!

  14. ya know my dear friend...I think you're being a little hard on yourself.

You work crazy hours in a somewhat stressful work environment.

And while it is super wonderful to have Jamie home with you...it is a change...a good change...but any major life change brings a bit of stress.

And the trauma of having Amanda go away to school isn't some made up thing. You two have been side by side for a very long time. Having that piece of your life move away...and all the Mommy things you think about when your daughter goes away to school...well I know there is a truck load of stress there too.

So go ahead and play the FB games. Let everything be disorganized for a week or two....or ten. Watch all the television and movies you want.

You're going through major life changes...to sit and veg is good for you now.

    sending you a big hug

  15. Well the picture never came up. But I'm sure that it is wonderful.

don't worry about the organization, let life happen

  16. Boy, did Katherine ever get that right!!!
Don't tell Jamie this but I wore my hair very much like that just a few years ago when I was working! I loved it - lots of gel and no hair dryer...
Reread what Katherine wrote and take a deep breath! And maybe a glass of vino?

Thanks for visiting!
