Looking at the Sky on Friday - The Frozen Version

It's been too long since I've participated in my friend Tisha's Looking at the Sky on Friday meme but while in Amherst, Massachusetts last Saturday I felt compelled to pull over next to (okay, I actually pulled onto!) this dead cornfield to take a picture of the cold sky overhead.  As you can see, the sun was trying hard to break through but it wasn't having any luck and the day was cold, cold, cold!  No Nikon-blue sky there at all, just the frozen gray steel of a late January day in Massachusetts.  Brrr!

Be sure to head over to Tisha's and check out the links to see if anyone else has posted a warm Friday sky!

  1. You might think I'm crazy...but, I think that sky is beautiful! The power of!

  2. i think it's beautiful too - one of those blues that is beautiful in the sky, but wouldn't want my bedroom in that color.
come to think of it, i think my mom had sheets that color, but i digress.
i also did frozen landscape for today's LATSOF.

  3. It is beautiful! And my memory agrees that it does look frozen and freezing! Brrrr! Perhaps we should call that color blue Brrrr Blue?!

  4. OK, now she's pulling onto dead cornfields to take a picture.
Oops. Did I say that out loud??

Have a great Friday. Linda. It was fun visiting with you this morning via three blog posts.

  5. The sun, alone, is trying to make the corn grow. The season alas for the high corn stalks is yet to come. But at least the sun is trying!

  6. Looks very cold to me. It's cold enough here and there isn't any snow.

Have a terrific day and weekend Linda. Big hug. :)

  7. That does look cold! Seeing it in a photo is the best way to see it for me:-) Brrr...

    Sending warm hugs from FL...

  8. That's a great pic! It's been awhile since I've played along too, but I sure missed seeing all the sky-shots; glad to "see" you again, too, my friend! Have a great weekend!

  9. It's a beautiful sky in it's own right, I love the hazy glow of the sun as it struggles to warm the frozen ground. ~ Calico Contemplations

  10. That's a wonderful photo, Linda! It's perfectly balanced and has an aura of quiet beauty around it.

  11. It's beautiful! The sun in all its glory is amazing. I know that there will come a time in the middle of summer when it's hotter than the fires of Hell that I will wish I could stand in that cold corn field...but not right now! *LOL* I'm ready for spring!! :)

Thanks for playing along with us again, Linda! Happy Friday!

  12. I think that this is a very beautiful picture. You can almost feel the cold in the air coming through my screen. And the sun...WOW! I love how it is struggling to come through and warm up the ground.

    I'm up too...come on over!
