Could someone please explain to me how it got to be the end of October already? And no, that's not my question - that's just my prelude to stating that tomorrow is Halloween but I've not quite figured out how that is already! Then again, time has definitely become relative for me in the past year or so and there's probably no good answer even if that were the question of this post, which it isn't!
The
real question of this post is this ...

Personally speaking, my only plans for Halloween are to meet my mother for lunch - the treat - before I have to go into work from 3 to 11 p.m. - definitely the trick! The only thing I'm dressing up as this year is a 911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher but trust me, that can be pretty scary in and of itself from time to time!
So how about you? What sort ghoulish goodies do you have planned for tomorrow??
Alas, working Halloween, as well as Thanksgiving AND Christmas, And New Years, AND Easter...
ReplyDeleteLuck of the draw I guess. Sigh.
We're heading west & north on a little eBay inspired road trip. Hoping to stop at Presque Isle in Erie, PA after a quick jaunt to Ohio to meet our eBay buyer and deliver his car. We never get trick or treaters, our area is too rural. I mailed out Halloween cards to all the kids in the family and gave them either money or Wendy's Frosty coupon books.
ReplyDeleteDon't work too hard, even though I'm not in your town, we appreciate the devotion of all dispatchers who keep us safe.
I know what I'll be doing -holding down the fort at home while Mandy takes Miss Maya out trick or treating!
ReplyDeleteActually, I'll be busy between baking bread, making at least one, maybe two pans of lasagne and perhaps dabbling in making some candy -all for our church women's bazaar to be held on Saturday. This will take place in between handing out treats to halloweeners and trying to keep Kurtis sheltered from the onslaught of kids in costumes that will send him into screaming fits of terror! The last part of that sentence is something I definitely am NOT looking forward to -poor little guy!
You dressed as an emergency dispatcher? Yes, VERRRRRRRY scary indeed. As for me, I was told by A2 that if I could find my Starfleet Uniform,( and if it still fits), that I could wear it. So now its off to the closet. See You at three.
ReplyDeleteme? i am heading south! and hoping to get warm on the way.

It depends whether my neighbor takes his kids out trick or treating... ;)
ReplyDelete"Mrs. Bulldog" & I are going to Salem, MA for Halloween. This is what we do every year, and it's quite fun! We shop, take ghost walks, sample the food, and mingle w/everyone else on the streets which are closed to traffic for the festivities. Oh, and we dress up, too! In Salem, the only person "out of place" is the one who DOESN'T dress up! "Mrs. Bulldog" will be a medieval peasant woman, and I will go as my alter ego - the WWII bomber pilot, inspired by my favorite movie, "Memphis Belle". As for working holidays, I feel your pain - crew 4 hasn't had a single holiday off in a few years already!
ReplyDeleteNo plans whatsoever :o) How about just nice dinner and some TV? Or maybe we will rent a movie or two :o)
ReplyDeleteI particularly took Halloween off so that I could sit on the front porch with my 3 peas in a pod and give candy to the kids. I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteToday the high is 77, low 59 so I'm hopeful it'll be just right for some family fun......and a little teaching that tis better to give than to receive!
Passing out treats while my baby girl takes her cousin trick-or-treating. Oldest is working.
ReplyDeleteWe are heading to the boat to avoid hundreds and hundreds of kids that are bussed into our neighborhood. It's amazing how many kids we have never seen before show up for goodies. We just leave. I don't have the energy for that anymore. Sorry you have to work Linda. Big hug. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Halloween. Our desks at the office get dressed up etc.
ReplyDeleteGoing Trick or Treat with Jack Jack... and his mom... should be fun. I hope to get pictures...
ReplyDelete9 hours of arabic, that's the trick for me, making it to 5 pm is apparently the treat. no arabic this weekend, unless I make the mistake of going to Tucson with one of the instructors, ugh. Hope your day at work is uneventful
ReplyDeleteVampire Fireman!
ReplyDeleteWe expect to have more than 100 trick or treaters, if history is any indication!
ReplyDeleteWe're planning a quiet evening at home. There will be dinner and blog reading.
ReplyDeleteNot as good as dinner and dancing, I know. But maybe there will be a DVD in our future too!
I dressed up as Rosie The Riveter and took all three babes trick or treating. It was fun!!
