Looking Up at the Sky on Friday

Photobucket

My pictures for this week's post were taken this past Sunday from the windows of the dispatch center where I work. Sometimes there are advantages to working on the third floor!

I'm afraid the clouds over Norwich today are going to look nothing like these, though, as we're in for our first "significant" storm of the season with forecasters predicting anywhere from 3 to 12 inches of the white fluffy stuff falling from the skies. Looks like we might be having a White Christmas here in New England if they're right.

Looking Up at the Sky on Friday is a new weekly meme developed by my friend Tisha at CrAzY Working Mom and all are welcome to join in!

  1. Brilliant blue skies with fluffy white clouds! Perfect! You're right, being on the upper floors of a building with good windows for a view helps with photographic efforts. Nice job, Linda.

With everything my daughter has dealt with over the past week, the additional challenges of heavy snow is not a welcome prospect. I wrote a post yesterday about her ordeal in NH.

  2. What vivid blues, Linda!

One of my sisters lives in NH and works for UNH, and they've shut down the campus today. One of my sisters lives in a suburb of Boston and she is home today because all the Boston schools are closed. She's not pleased though, because she loves going to work and her twins are home with her. hahaha! Snow for Christmas! Brrr.

  4. Beautiful sky shots. We got over 4 inches of snow already and it is still falling here in WI, so if it passes the right way over the lakes it just might be coming your way.

  5. My sister lives in Glastonbury and works in Harford. I talked to her yesterday and she said she was working from home today... I always liked a White Christmas when I was growing up. Now I like the really sunny Christmas. But it looks like it will be a rainy one for us this year.

  15. I agree that the higher the floor, the better the photo op. I used to work on the 3rd floor of my old building, and now I'm on the 7th.

  17. Linda, you ought to have a photo exhibit at the Otis Library. Your skies over Norwich are great, fluffy but set against a beautiful blue sky. Your D60 is nice, but more importantly, you have a keen eye for natural beauty. If Norwich has a tourism department, they shout use the above photos in their brochure...
